3 stars because it looks like it's going to work.Otherwise, it's discouraging to pay $200 for a product and have to complete the manufacturing process. The attached photo is the vacuum connector as I received it. I don't think I'm being too picky to not want these metal flakes sucked into my engine's vacuum system. I had to scrub this down with an old toothbrush and wipe it clean with a rag.The vacuum line also has some wiggle in this port when connected so it seems like the opening may be about half a millimeter larger than the OEM charge pipe. Not really what you want for an air-tight connection. Fortunately, I have a set of various sized o-rings so I can probably seal it up better. The end that connects to the throttle body seems to be a good fit, and my c-clip fits into the slots well, though there are no grooves for the clip ends to lock into like on the OEM pipe. I hope this doesn't allow the c-clip to jump out of place. I may need to find a way to keep that from happening, like wrapping some silicon tape around it.The other end of the pipe attaches to the turbo pipe perfectly via a silicon sleeve and a couple of hose clamps that should secure it well - though you need a deep well socket to tighten them as the bolt is too long for a standard socket after you reach a certain point.I have not taken her out on a maiden voyage yet but I don't expect any more surprises. All in all, it did not arrive in a usable condition and that's disappointing.Update: the wide opening in the vacuum port is a problem. I got a check engine light and a P112F code. I ended up having to use a small hose between this pipe and the vacuum line to seal the connection. That got rid of the code so far.

Unit was shipped very fast, it was scheduled for a Friday and it came on Wednesday π. Installation is straight forward, I installed the rubber extension first then moved to install the complete part. It comes with 2 new screws, you will need to replaced the old ones with these as the place where the oxygen sensor goes has a bit of bigger holes for the screws. Overall very easy to install and can help you save money compare to the "original" BMW part, also it has way better quality than the plastic one that comes with the X5 as this one is aluminum and well made so airflow should be better at higher rpms. Overall a great experience and it helped me saved a total of $1200 by doing it myself π
