About this item

  • A Ventilated Garlic Cellar Keep That Garlic Fresh: added holes insure the correct moisture regulation so your garlic keeps fresher longer.
  • Durable Wooden Design Unlike Fragile Terracotta & Ceramic Garlic Keepers: we noticed ceramic pieces are often nice looking options for storage containers but impractical. Simply lifting up and placing down can end up with cracks & chips or even worse a total break. Wood is a naturally durable and long lasting option.
  • Zero Plastic - Entirely Wooden Option: This acacia garlic pot dish bowl really looks and performs absolutely fabulously with natural materials. We chose a darker hard wood (acacia) as opposed to softer lighter woods.
  • Create An Elegant Counter Space: declutter and add a stylish touch to your counter with this beautiful piece.
  • The Perfect Gift: this garlic crock stands out and makes a loving gift for friends, family or maybe a small present to yourself ;)

Love the little design on top, the placement of air holes along the bottom and the fact that it’s wooden!

I have a fondness for wood things. Especially those with minimal treatment that I could treat overtime. I love the idea of a piece of my kitchen that I need to recondition on occasion or it won’t become an heirloom. Call me weird, but needlessly storing my garlic in this thing is pretty cool. You most certainly could store it in a cupboard, a drawer, a cabinet just fine. It wasn’t until I had this that I realized I wanted one.So why get it? If you’re someone who appreciates aesthetics it’s pretty rad. It’s made of layered acacia wood with variant grain. It’s defining feature is the airholes at the bottom of the pot which could potentially help you keep garlic longer. Does it really make a difference? I haven’t noticed. However, I do appreciate something this well made on my countertop. It’s rather nice looking and I enjoy it.Garlic is something I’ve found is fundamentally lacking in American foods. It’s under utilized. In terms of cooking style I enjoyed elevating my affordable garlic with something like this. It’s almost as though it’s on display, as it should be. Your garlic deserves a home. Make it a pretty wood home, even though it’s entirely unnecessary. I do think this may make a better gift than a personal purchase, but that’s just me. Regardless I do love seeing it on my counter top.

I want to start off by saying this product is absolutely gorgeous. The color and quality of the wood is amazing and it’s so pretty I want to put it on display on my counter! The size is perfect for a larger bulb of garlic. It has little holes around the bottom for air flow. It’s very easy to clean, if any garlic peels fall off you just dumb them out in the trash and give it a quick wipe with a damp cloth. It’s real wood, so it’s durable and I expect this to last a life time. I’d say it’s an amazing bang for your buck.

I do so love containers dedicated to containing a certain product! This is a very nicely made wooden canister and the garlic printing on the lid is perfect to show what is inside. This is no little garlic jar though, this thing is huge! It easily held 5 heads of garlic with room to spare. It takes up a little more space than what I would prefer, but I just love the way it looks so I will continue to use it.

I review items for the Amazon vine program and I received this product to review.I have a ceramic garlic holder that I've had for years and it's very pretty, but it only holds one and a half cloves of garlic. I usually buy two to four cloves at a time often, some of the garlic will go bad because it's not been in a container.I was delighted to find this large wooden garlic holder because it holds multiple cloves of garlic. It is wooden and looks very nice in the kitchen. The walls of the would keep out the light darkand still has of course a couple of holes in it to keep the air flowing around the garlic.I think this is beautifully designed and also very functional. This is a great buy, with a reasonable price point for such beautifully crafted item. I recommend this item and I'm giving it five stars.

"Jean Lemond" is one of those names that I assumed was some renowned French chef who after an illustrious career decided to get into the kitchen supply making business. But as far as I can tell, he doesn't exist. He seems to be a marketing creation. That said, "Monsieur Lemond" did have a hit on his hands a few years ago with an innovative perforated pie dish that really did result in some pretty crisp (if messy) pie crusts. If you look at their store, you can see a lot of other gadgets like an olive pit remover, a dough cutter, and bizarrely, a birth control pill holder...Most garlic holders I've seen are made of ceramic or clay, but this one is made of wood. The purpose of a garlic holder is to protect garlic from moisture (which can make it grow mold). It does this by allowing air to circulate around the garlic (this is why there are holes in them, as well as why the lid—intentionally—does not fit too tightly. You'll hear varying opinions of whether garlic holders work; some say it doesn't make a difference, while others swear by them. The difference is probably how much light and moisture they have in their environment. This particular one is pretty large. It'd probably fit upwards of 10 heads of garlic, which is of course way more than you want to store at a time. In their FAQs they say that you can store ginger in these as well. The purpose is the same: keep them dark, cool, and not too moist to grow mold but not too dry so they wither. While this seems to function just fine, the one thing about it which I found off-putting was the very heavy smell. It was hard for me to figure out whether the smell was the natural smell of the wood, or the smell of whatever chemicals they used to seal, oil, or lacquer the wood. I fear the latter is more likely. I ended up airing out the container for a week, and I can still smell it. I would definitely leave it out until all of the odors finish off-gassing before placing garlic in there. While it's a unique product and definitely well-made, I think I'd give the edge to terra-cotta garlic holders that don't go through as much processing, and then ceramic ones before I would go with a processed wood one like this. That said, the natural colors and look of this one definitely are nicer than either of those, so if you're looking for more form over function, this isn't a bad option.
