They are pretty sturdy when sitting. The bottom has non slip grips so they stay in one spot pretty well. I got these to shower, and they do that pretty well. Only downside is that they are pretty short (and I am tall) my my legs start going numb. Beyond that they do exactly what I got them for

Read the dimensions carefully. I used stools like this for years in Japan and just bought it quickly because it looked right. Never seen these so small like literally 1/4 the size of what would be useful. Exactly the same thing I wanted except a miniature version.
