Fixed a running toilet. Very easy to install although I think it is important to drain the water and get the flapper seat dry before gluing in place. Worked like a charm. Highly recommended if just getting a new flapper ball does not fix the problem. They could have included a small piece of sandpiper which is recommended for the installation so i did not have to rummage around to find one. Other worked great.

This is the perfect repair for a toilet that the flapper valve leaks. I tried all different types of flapper valves but couldn’t get the water to stop leaking by. Install this kit on an older toilet and it works great no more water leaking by the flapper valve.

Our toilet from the 1960s began to trickle water into the bowl daily. Upon inspection, I found the rubber flapper valve had become hard and deformed to the point where a perfect seal could not be formed. This product claimed to resolve that, so I gave it a shot given the price point. The flapper valve had been distorted by the plastic packaging during transport and did not return to its original shape, but I still gave it a shot. The ring was easy to install but placing it dead center was tricky. The new rubber flapper that came with the package didn't always align perfectly and I had to play around with it to get a perfect seal. The problem still persists. It could be my misalignment or the distortion in the rubber, but it's worth a shot.

A great product, it resolved leakage which multiple flappers failed to resolve.

Pricey! but we have a flappy flush and it replaced our leaking one and cured the dripping.

Pretty good stuff. Solved my year long tank leaking problem. Rubber is soft and flappy. Perfect for the application. Seals well, no leakage. Not sure it will harden over time. But it does not look so after a year.

This couldn't BE any easier to install.WHAT IS IT? It's a flapper valve and seal for a toilet tank reservoir (that squarish thing behind the toilet bowl).WHAT DO YOU NEED IT FOR? If you have a leaky toilet (one where the water keeps flowing or leaking after flushing), replacing the existing flapper valve with this one will most likely fix the problem.HOW DO YOU USE IT? First, turn off the water valve you'll see near the floor right underneath the toilet tank. You turn it off just by twisting it about 5 or 6 turns. Then you just lift the lid off the toilet tank, then look down through the water to the bottom of the tank. You'll see a flapper valve covering a hole (sometimes the original one's black). Just disconnect the little chain that hooks to the toilet handle (you'll see it) and lift off the existing flapper, gently disengaging it from the pegs that secure it in place. Let the water drain completely out of the tank (if you remembered to turn the water off, it won't refill).WHAT'S NEXT? Dry the bottom of the tank completely, using a towel, then go have a nice cup of coffee. Come back, make sure the "hole" is completely dry (use your towel again), then use the silicone sealant provided in the little tube to coat the bottom of the round black gasket seal & fit it over the hole (our original installation didn't have a seal, so ours installed directly over the porcelain). Let it dry a few hours or overnight (instructions, I believe, said 30 minutes, but I'm conservative, so I WAITED).THEN WHAT? Fit the red flapper valve onto the little "pegs" you'll see at the bottom of your tank, then string the chain back onto the back side of the flushing handle (IT"S EASY!!!). Fit the chain length (you want it short enough to flush when you move the handle, but not so short that it doesn't seal. Play with it. You'll figure it out. Then turn the water valve back on, test your flush & applaud yourself for saving a hundred dollars on a plumber!Instructions are in the package & very clear. It's an easy do-it-yourself project. I'd never done this before & I fixed mine myself in no time, just following the directions. It's really easy. I did come back and buy another kit, just to have it on hand in case our guest bathroom needs the same repair in the future. Highly recommended!P.S. If the flusher valve replacement doesn't fix your leaky toilet, your second problem to investigate is the filler valve. They sell these at Amazon, too, so you can even fix THAT yourself, with ease, if you have to. Here's one (make sure it fits your model (usually stamped into the lid of the tank or on the back of the inside of the toilet tank, FYI):

I could hear the toilet trickling water into the bowl, with an occasional water refill noise. From this description of the problem, you might guess (correctly) that I know nothing about plumbing (or most other home repairs). I'm a recent widow, and my late husband used to do the home repairs. My first impulse was to buy a new toilet and hire a plumber to install it, but that seemed a bit extreme. So, it took me several hours online to 1) identify the source of the problem (a disintegrating old flapper), 2) determine what was needed to fix this problem, and 3) order this product. Just figuring out what the various sizes (2", 3") referred to took a fair amount of time.Anyway, product arrived and I read the instructions on the back several times before starting the project. It took a while to get all the water out of the tank, since even after flushing most of it away there was still a couple of inches up to the hole in the bottom that went to the bowl. The disintegrating old flapper came off in chunks - no wonder the toilet was running! I cleaned off the edges of the hole in the bottom, and it looked undamaged. I was about to open the tube of goop and smear it on the black ring when I thought I'd better see if the red flapper would fit OK first. So, I put the flapper on the little arms, hooked up the chain, and tried it out. Amazingly, it worked perfectly even without the black ring with goop. The black ring with the unopened tube of goop is now residing in the cabinet under the sink, along with the instruction sheet (never throw that out), just in case. There were so many comments on various flapper products about not fitting, toilet still running, etc. I'm delighted that the fix was so easy, and this flapper works perfectly. The toilet is silent again between flushes, as it should be. I figure I saved at least $500.
