Ride Comfort may be important, but restoring a vehicle’s Ride Control; stability, stopping, lane change responsiveness and handling is critical. KYB Excel-G Shocks & Struts are designed for the most important performance purpose: Restoring the vehicle’s original capabilities. KYB is a world leading supplier of shocks and struts to new vehicle manufacturers and the Excel-G is made on the very same KYB OE assembly lines, uses the same OE quality components and is calibrated to restore original, designed performance, not change it. That has earned Excel-G the classification: OEA (Original Equipment for the Aftermarket). The KYB Excel-G is a nitrogen gas-charged, twin-tube design that includes every quality component that our global OEM products include and it is the preferred choice for Asian vehicles.

The struts arrived hydro locked, which took two different mechanics and a few months to figure out. Now, because the warranty is so bad, all the company will do is replace the shock if they determine it to be faulty. What about all the time I have to spend without a car waiting for them to "test" a product that has been bad since it arrived. I can't go without my vehicle, so now the choice I have is wait on them to test and ship (weeks) or just buy new ones.Save yourself the trouble and buy a monroe or other name brand, but KYB sucks.Update: I returned the struts to the seller, and of course the seller said there "is nothing wrong with these struts" however when I ordered replacement struts from rock auto, all the issues I was having with the suspension went away. Don't do business with just suspension. they are scammers, and wouldn't offer a refund even when I returned the parts to them in the warranty period.

Installed these myself to replace the original struts on the rear of my 2003 Mazda Protege5 with 130K miles and everything fit properly. Shipping time was as expected. To me, they feel the same as stock. They've only been on for a month so I can't attest to durability/lifespan. Just a side note: My stock strut mounts were half rotted (I live in Masssachusetts) and one was so seized to the shock that I had to cut it off to remove the spring so if you're doing the rears on a Protege5 you might want to order the mounts too.
