Bought these to eliminate the shocks as a potential source of a rattle in the back of my '05 Dakota. When I took my OE shocks off, they were tired, with barely enough charge left to expand them. These KYB's were stout indeed! Guessing maybe 30 lbs of charge in them. At first I thought they would make my ride harsh, but they really tamed the back end of the truck down. They were a wrestling match to install - especially on the right side where the exhaust system routes by - but are worth the effort. Only downside is KYB doesn't make a matching front strut to these awesome rear shocks.I hope they hold up for the long haul on our terrible Toledo streets!!!

replaced these from stock 2005 dodge rear shocks. glad i spent the extra money for these. a very stiff shock to install.did it myself and the crew for ricky bobby were able to get back out on the track. i slammed into danicas rear a few laps later.she was hurting the next day. but had a great ride.

Installed on a Dakota R/T whose shocks were shot after 50,000. KYB needs to compress shocks from factory. They were a mother to compress to put lower bolt through. Some shocks come compressed and are tied together from factory. Then you cut ties and as shocks lower thread the bolt. Truck feels like it sits higher in back. I can subtlely feel the truck bed moving up and down w/ new schocks. Great road feel and smooth ride for such a stiff shock.
