The Gas-a-Just is available as an OE monotube replacement and as an OE twin-tube performance upgrade. The KYB Gas-a-Just has two separate working chambers: An air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness & control, and a second high-pressure nitrogen gas area with a floating piston that provides a comfortable ride during normal driving and adds instant performance on demand.

Nice upgrade for my 1994 Nissan D21 2WD pickup. Much quieter ride.

Work great. A little difficult to put in. Once the strap was removed, they were hard to compress and guide into the upper shock mount, but it is doable. These replaced some VERY OLD Monroes. I have no idea how old but they definitely were blown. These went onto a 1986.5 Nissan Hardbody pickup, along with the appropriate set for the rears. Ride is much improved now. 14mm for the top nut, 17mm for the lower nut.

So far these shocks have been serving me rather well, however during the installation the mechanic showed me that the inferior metal on the flat part on top above the threads used to stop the shock from spinning during installation stripped and bent on the driver side! It didn't stop the installation, but if I ever need them removed for any reason, they probably won't be able to put them in a second time. That flat tab is very important as the shocks cannot be torqued into place without grabbing that flat tab. It should be reinforced but it is not and it is rather flimsy and cheap feeling. The rest of the shock is great and a lot fatter than stock shocks!

I bought these when updating the suspension on my 96' Nissan truck. Obviously, this was a great improvement over the OEM shocks. I dont drive the truck much, but they did restore the ride height ! It does drive firmer than original but not harsh, one of the best upgrades I have done to the truck lately.
