Warm Tips:

  1. Please kindly confirm the size of your bike tire before you buy, width between 23mm-25mm tires.
  2. Before inserting the new tube, make sure to check for sharp/pointed objects inside or embedded in the tire, that could puncture the tube.
  3. Remember to always add 20%-30% air (to give the tube form) to the new inner tube before installing it. This will prevent it from bunching up and/or causing a pinch flat or possibly blowing the tire off the rim (when you immediately and fully inflate) which ultimately will pop the tube.
  4. Check tire air pressure regularly; Try to keep your tire properly inflated as much as possible. Never overinflate and of course, don’t underinflate.
  5. Place the valve through the hole in the rim. The valve should stick out at a 90-degree angle. Screw the valve cap on tightly and securely.
  6. After installation, make sure the tube is fully inside the tire and not pinched between the tire and the metal frame. Now you can inflate the tire to recommended pressure levels.

I chose this tube because it came with tire tools, which reduced the amount of time it took me to change the tube and eliminated the temptation to use screwdrivers. Screwdrivers do not play well with inner tubes.

These tire tubes are inexpensive - so buying two costs the same as buying one higher quality tube. Probably should have just bought the more expensive one as one of the tires I got had a hole in it. So I paid the same for one inexpensive functioning tire tube as I would have for one higher quality tube.

Had an issue with my valve and needed a replacement. I love how short the stem is on this and makes pumping easier with my short portable pump. Looks like feels like good quality too.

Most tubes I've used and which come with new, quality bikes, weigh 750 to about 100 grams. These tubes each weigh 128 grams, meaning more rotational weight resistance if you are into sprints and the like and have sprung for a set of lightweight wheels or shelled out big bucks for a light bike. Owners of these accept the routine of checking tire pressure on a regular basis. The person who buys speed with light weight will stay away from these tubes. On the other hand, if you are a occasional, recreational rider, these tubes will be fine, and should hold air for a longer period than is usual for you. They look reasonably well constructed, and my samples lacked significant ridges from the molding, which sometimes cause a problem with patches locking in air unless one carefully slices them off. If your underseat storage is limited, be aware that one of these tubes takes significantly more storage space than an under 100 gm tube.Think about this, if you carry one of these tubes in an underseat bag, and you use one on a wheel, you add two ounces you can avoid with lighter, known brand tubes.
