I got these for my aging VOX ToneLab SE effects box, as a couple switches had seen better days. It now works like new and I'm happy with the reliably smooth action.

When I purchased these the description stated they were “Latching” which is exactly what I needed. What the description at the time did not state was that they were also “Momentary”, which I did NOT need. “Latching-Momentary” footswitches?? Maybe it’s just me and what I use them for, but that combination doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Usually with SPDT Switches, there’s LATCHING and then there’s MOMENTARY. You purchase one or the other. But anyways, I just wanted to give people a heads up that these are truly Latching AND Momentary footswitches. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

After having trouble finding a spst normally closed momentary switch, I opted for this spdt momentary switch instead. An spdt switch is essentially two switches in one: a normally open spst and a normally closed spst switch, depending on how you wire it. In my case, I soldered the right two lugs to the tip and ground of a 1/4” jack to create a tap tempo switch. This normally allows a current to flow through and only stops when you push the switch, then flows again when you release. I use this on a Boss RC-1 loop station pedal as an external stop switch. This switch, along with a small enclosure, ran me $15, which is about $5 cheaper than the cheapest pre made switch I could find, and $15-$30 cheaper than name brand boxes, and it works just as well! Highly recommended!!

I bought these because I have one of a handful of musical pedals that requires a normally-closed connection.As soon as saw them I could tell it was a cheap design. There's a ton of side-to-side wobble.... but the worst part was when I got out the multi-meter to find out which pins were normally-open and normally-closed.I couldn't get the switch to work!!!!!!!Right as I was about to give up, my frustration caused me to press hard on the switch and I swear it actually loudly "clicked" (like a latching switch.)The meter showed that it indeed functioned as momentary, BUT IT CLICKS!!!!!This company doesn't understand that this is NOT what is desired in ANY momentary switch!!!!

I used the normally closed terminals to make a Stop switch for a Boss RC-1 Looper. Works great!
