I got this to make my own deli meat for sandwiches. As a mother of two young kids, knowing what I’m feeding them is important to me, and eating thinly sliced meat is fun for them. With that said, I have not had the time to try making my own yet. I’m impressed with the quality of each part of this contraption. The stainless steel container is thicker than expected. I would have liked having instructions and maybe a recipe book/flyer included. There’s a video on the item, but I’m a little old school for certain things. I’m also assuming that the brand’s sticker should be removed. It’s a hard plastic and doesn’t curve, nor would it be a good idea to put it in boiling water; their video doesn’t have a sticker. All seems to be looking good. If anything else comes up upon using it for a while, I’ll update my review.

This all-in-one kit is a great way to avoid buying deli meat from a store. If you process your own meat, this would allow you complete control over the content of your deli meat. If you still buy meat from the store, this kit gives you the advantage of lower prices and customized seasonings. The directions were quite clear and worked perfectly--the only hiccup I had was that I only had 1 pound of meat when the recipe is for 2 pounds. It still worked just fine, but I did have to use a separate thermometer to check the center, as the provided thermometer did not reach the center with just 1 pound of meat. I also made up my own seasonings, as I am allergic to garlic--this went well but may need some refinement. The resulting meat cylinder had a few air voids but sliced well with a knife into approximate 1/8" slices perfect for a sandwich. Would definitely recommend this kit as a great way to make custom seasoned meat.

This little gadget is amazing- and in today’s economy a big money saver.Where I live 1LB of lunch meat ranges between $6-18 per lb. Absolute insanity, especially considering the sodium content and lack of new flavour options on the market. I can purchase fresh meat on sale for less than $5/lb and make my own healthier, more enjoyable alternatives. As another reviewer mentioned, this wasn’t any more difficult than making burgers. I chose t I’ll the canister and lid rather than use plastic. I have a meat grinder and meat slicer, so I’m able to create nearly identical deli meat to the store at a fraction of the cost. Definitely recommend you anyone looking to save a buck on lunch meat or just experiment with something new!
