I needed a white lockbox so that it could blend in more easily and not be as noticeable. This was surprisingly difficult to find. They're all black. As for security, I haven't had any issues, but I don't use it for my my house key. Instead it's used for a key to an outhouse and for that it's ok

this is great, sturdy, does the jobonly minor complaint is I wish it had a small hook inside to hang keys/keyrings on - that would make it much easier to close
