I bought this months ago and we tried to assemble it for months. Even my builder husband threw up his hands. Last night, it finally came together and it is simply BEAUTIFUL AND EXQUISITELY DESIGNED.It is also sturdy and folds flat which is a very nice feature.However, the ASSEMBLY DIRECTIONS need to be TOTALLY redesigned. The pictures are so small that it its impossible to see the needed details. They should be enlarged and more detailed and there should be some written directions coinciding. It has a dangerous spring that buyers should be warned to wear protective eyewear when assembling if they can figure it out. It shot across the room and into another room FOUR times at high speed. The parts should be labeled front and back and left and right. When my builder husband, after multiple tries to read and follow the "directions" threw up his hands, I studied it in detail. I finally ripped out the front "picture" –also too small– so I could refer to it as I tried to follow the design construction and the too too small visual only instructions. The instructions were so bad that this entire project got assembled and disassembled completely at least three times –and other parts many more times than that– to get the front to back and left to right parts in the right order. My husband joined back in as I made slow progress and together we assembled it, finally, IN EIGHT HOURS OF TIME!I did look at the website and could not find this easel directions on it. The video on Amazon is so quick, who could follow it? Not us anyway. I contacted the company and they responded quite politely and within hours, said they had enclosed step by step instructions and a video, but it was IN CHINESE!After all this, I felt I needed to write this review both for the company and for future buyers. I have tackled puzzles that –and they are meant to be figured out and challenging– that are easier than this was.In conclusion: This is a VERY nice easel and, now that it is assembled, I am very happy with it! But honestly, Meeden, reconstruct your horrible directions.

I bought this so I could stop using my table top easel and stand up since I sit all day at my job. I am only 5'5 and find myself having to bend over awkwardly to try and paint the bottom half of the painting which is not fun or healthy really. It will be even harder for taller people. I actually tore the thing apart again thinking I had assembled it wrong and the diagram on the paper didn't really show the rungs in the front real clearly so thought they went in the back only to find myself back at the same thing again. I should have just looked at the picture online. My bad. Now for the good, the wood is nice, its also sturdy. I do wish they had a lighter honey colored wood to match my house but all in all its nice to look at but again, not really an easel to stand and paint and since I already have paint on it can't return it so pretty disappointed in that aspect of it.

Very sturdy and holds large pieces securely. I like the adjustments. Found the instructions a little challenging to figure out orientation of the pieces compared to the drawings in the I stuctions, but maybe that is just me (?) - Overall it is great value for the money.

The easel is very well made which can be expected from Meeden. It's a perfect size for an apartment dweller or for anyone that isn't working on very large canvas, although i think it might accommodate one. Instructions were barely readable because of the size. Why so small? Easy to put together after I took images of instructions on my phone and then zoomed in. I would recommend this easel to anyone and wouldn't hesitate buying another one down the road.

I love it! It's very pretty as well as functional. When I'm not using it to paint, I display a painting on it…or an unfinished one to get me to stop procrastinating and finish it already.

This is a beautiful easel. It's sturdy and will save space. I was going to order the large, square one at the $129 price point, but this one will collapse for easier storage. It will serve my needs when I'm working on a large project. I love the finish, the style, the simplicity and the functionality. Has adjustable options for painting positions.It was easy to assemble. My 9-year-old granddaughter and I had it together in 45 minutes. For anyone wanting a simple, space-saving easel, this one might be for you.As I said this is a beautiful easel.I'm very happy with this easel.

So much to like about this easel. Suitable for adults and quite small children. I bought it for my 8 year old boy who is still very small. It's sufficiently well made that he'll have this for life if he continues painting, even if he grows tall.One of the features I really appreciated was the care and attention that has gone into the instruction manual and packaging all the screws and fixings. This made assembling what is a a fairly elaborate product very easy experience.The package included quite a few different sized screws and fixings. But each different fixing came in its own little pack, labelled A,B,C etc. Each assembly step called for just one fixing type so knew exactly what part I needed to use for each step and had it to hand.The build quality is good and looks good too. It's made of solid / sturdy beech wood. Looks good and has everything you need for a studio easel. The inclusion of a stepped locking mechanism and the top fixing bar make this very good value for money.Amazon asks users to rate this for being lightweight, which seems rather dumb to me. Although it folds down, it's not designed to be be a travelling easel. It's for the studio, around the house etc. You really want it to be heavy enough to withstand accidental knocks.All in all, very pleased. I should say I'd actually actually purchased another easel made of beech from Officeworks for about the same price before I bought this, but in comparison to this, it was really lacking in features, so I returned it in favour of this one. Definitely the right decision.

Quick arrival. I am going to use the easel to display large art frames I build & was concerned about the sturdiness. It is a little heavier than I anticipated and that combined with a really well thought out design and hardware makes this easel rock solid. I'm glad I bought the one made of ash wood, a hardwood that baseball bats are made of. I imagine that helps. I assembled it between touchdowns and glugs of Dr. Pepper and all told, it only took me 45 minutes. I read other reviews where people had difficulty, but I don't know how the instructions could be written more clearly.Even the hardware is divided into separate, clearly labeled bags. They include a decent Philips screw driver, but a #2 size Philips would probably be a little better. It is easily adjustable, but that doesn't make it loose goosey. I almost bought the knock off, cheaper brand, but this one is worth every penny. I couldn't be more satisfied. Thanks for a great product.

For the price this is an excellent easel. The product is good quality, well packaged when sent and comes with everything you need to put it together including a screwdriver. Unlike with some items the parts are well made and strong. The instructions are quite easy to follow but it pays to examine the drawings very carefully before attempting to put pieces together.
