Protect Before The Damage Happens
The first ridge is to strengthen the differential, the second is the mounting location for the differential cover; you DO NOT want to damage these locations.
The MetalCloak Differential Skid Plate (DSP) encases the vulnerable hang up locations with 3/16" steel, providing a smooth and protective surface to glide over the rocks.
Protection with a simple bolt-on solution.

I ordered several Metalcloak skid plates for my 2020 JL Rubicon. Surprising, a rep from Metalcloak called me the next day, thanked me for ordering thru Amazon, and told me that they would be shipping my 3 products out sooner than stated on Amazon, and that they were shipping to Amazon customers with a high priority. I received my products within the week. So Metalcloak on Amazon worked excellent for me. Then of course the Metalcloak skid plates I ordered were high quality and installed easily, exactly as specified in Metalcloaks installation videos. Overall, Metalcloak on Amazon, plus high quality products, is a winner.

This thing is beefy, high quality and the best part is it’s from Metalcloak which means if you have any issues you get to deal with a great company who has the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. I wouldn’t think twice to “cloak” all my Jeeps or to recommend others do it as well.

Packaged very well and secured. Easy installation. This particular model was made for the Jeep Wrangler JL with the M220 rear differential (aka 3rd gen Dana 44). But this will also work for the 2019-2023 Ford Ranger equipment with the M220 rear differential which is what I installed this particular skid plate on. No issue with the installation. As an added bonus, it is compatible with the Ford Performance rear differential cover.

Like the skid plate but but it did not come with directions on what to torque the bolts at had to text them to find out

It works with Metalcloak diff covers. It protects the underside of the diff. A little pricey compared to others. Wish it protected the U joint too like Rough Country’s

Outstanding fabrication and design.It would be a great idea to engineer the added protection for the yoke and the point of attachment of the drive shaft.
