This cable worked for my project. I needed it for a project with a esp32 micro controller housed in a small enclosure. This short cable allowed me to extend and attach the programming port to the outside where it is more accessible. The usb plug-ins on both and fit and it seems to function fine both for power and data. However, I could not get the panel mount bracket piece to attach no matter what I tried. It looks like the other part of the usb connector should press right into the hole on flange part but it does not. Both cables do the same thing, there’s no clearance. It’s just too big to fit. There are no instructions or anything. I’m wondering if this is a manufacturing defect. I was able to make this work, but it wasn’t as clean an install as I would’ve liked it to be.
