While this router might fine for those who are dedicated to delving into the tech world to use it, I would not recommend it for those who need a simpler residential solution. I've wasted a number of days playing with it and keep finding issue after issue. Sending it back.

If you are looking into buying this it is either because you can program Mikrotik, or you have a friend that does and told you tu buy it.... if any of these two is your use case scenario... don't think about it twice. The quality/price ratio is great. I have dozens of them creating a VPN network all over the world... and they work flawlesly.... I have one we are going to upgrade for performance that has been working non stop for over ten years....

Remplace un RB 2011: largement plus puissant, il permet de router du gigabit vers ma box fibre sans limitation de débit à cause du CPU (limite que le RB 2011 montrait au dessus de 300-400 Mb/s).Coté fonctionnalités, on est pas déçu comme toujours avec RouterOS et on arrive à faire des choses incroyables (full IPv6, port knocking, wireguard, catch-all HTTP & DNS pour redirection vers proxy locaux, firewall, routage MPLS, ...), et toujours avec un prix défiant toute concurrence !!Ce n'est par contre pas un matériel de type "grand public", et ne s'adresse donc pas aux néophytes: la doc et les forums peuvent aider et inspirer mais seulement si on s'y connait déjà sur la partie réseau (au sens académique).

Llevo con este router varios meses, no hay otro router mejor por el precio.Perfecto para el usuario que busca deshacerse de los cortes de Internet que muchas veces están causados por la saturación del router y para el usuario avanzado que busca personalización y gestión activa. No es exageración lo que dicen en la página web oficial, que sirve para el 99% de los hogares.Alcance para todo el piso de sobra (vivo en un piso de 90m² de dos plantas), PoE in y out, 1G en todas las entradas y salidas, gestión activa de paquetes, firewall avanzado, Wifi 6, y muchisimas cosas más. Lo único malo es que Mikrotik pone las cosas un poco dificiles al usuario sin conocimientos, pero nada que un tutorial y el quick setup no puedan solucionar.Lo único que le faltaría (que entiendo que no lleve, por este precio es muy complicado y solo lo he visto en algún soft router de aliexpress en oferta) seria una conexión SFP (que sería una gran opción para el hogar, ya que podrias conectarlo directamente a la fibra con un adaptador a ONT).Además es pequeñísimo (cabe en la palma de la mano y tengo las manos pequeñas), y se puede atornillar en la pared con mucha facilidad, y así lo tengo yo para que no moleste.Ojalá saquen mas pronto que tarde una versión con 10G para usarse con las OLT de Digi, pero viendo la situación del hardware de 10G, no creo que ocurra en mucho tiempo.Muy contento honestamente

If you want to have full control over your connections, this device is for you. On the cons side is windows-only app, but I managed to run it in wine. Antenna signal strength is lower than the vodafone adsl router, but I bet vodafone breaches the power limits set by law.

How come the ac2 has a usb port but the ax2 doesn't, when the ax2 has 1gb ram and quad core cpu ideal for running containers that use the USB port? Would've made an excellent NAS with an SMB and netatalk container.
