This is a neat little home mold testing kit.It comes nicely packaged to ensure no damage is done to the petri dishes, with just about everything you'd need to test for mold in your home, car, place of business, etc.Except there are no instructions... I received a mold identification guide, which was cool and informative, but no actual information on how I should collect samples, how long it would be to see results, and other such things you'd want to know.Once you research how to use them to check for mild, they function and work as one would expect, getting results in a matter of days.Cool for a science project or checking on the health of your home.

Super clean, came extremely well packaged. It was in a box, inside of a Styrofoam mold, and then vaccume sealed. Very happy.

Value priced, but not a quality value. Wouldn't recommend to a novice

Easy to use — instructions are very clear. Price is right. And I am pleased to know that I have no black mold

I didn’t know what to expect with this kit since I’ve never tested for mold before, but the thought of doing a little science experiment in my house sounded super fun. This is essentially a box of pre-poured agar petri dishes, like the ones you used in high school bio. You also get plastic gloves, cotton swabs, labels, and a pen. Wow.I suppose the "selling point" here is the mold catalog, which shows you full-color images of the types of mold you might see growing in your petri dish, along with descriptors, possible health concerns, and where to find them in your house. That being said, it’s a brochure for ants. Each picture is about a centimeter wide, and the print is so fine I need both reading glasses and a magnifying glass. You’d do better just ordering a few pre-poured petri dishes and doing a Google image search for the results. There’s no reason for the huge upcharge on this kit.

They said clear instructions but there's really no actual instructions whatsoever, just a small (and I mean very small) pamphlet on general information about mold. The petri dishes are separated into two bags; five in each. If you're looking to do a bunch of tests at once this is okay but if you only want to do one test it's a bit of a nuisance knowing you'll be exposing 4 of the dishes to contaminants since the bag isn't resealable or anything. And I don't have the equipment to properly disinfect a petri dish I believe. This makes me wonder if they're just undercutting the competition and trying to avoid responsibility by not including actual instructions.

The plates started to get condensation on the inside before they were used. I'm not sure if this is normal, but the information that was sent with this product was lacking. Unless you have a magnifying glass and 20/20 vision the mold identification chart is useless. If the company receives this review, they may want to send that information on a regular sized sheet of paper. Also, when taking specimen to plate, I had very little idea on how to properly do this. I had to look for a video online on how to do this. They did not mention what environment to place the plates that would be optimal for growth. NO INFORMATION AT ALL. At this time I would not recommend purchasing this product to anyone.

Just got my mold test kit, and I'm excited to finally check out what's been making me sneeze. These little petri dishes seem easy enough to use, even for a non-scientist like me. Hoping I don't find anything too nasty lurking in the air vents. I've been worried about the air quality lately, so this should give me some peace of mind. Ten dishes seem like plenty to test different spots around the house. It's definitely cheaper than hiring a professional. Plus, who doesn't love a little DIY science project? Fingers crossed the results are all clear!
