These fit 2000-2004 Volo V40, DO NOT THINK THEY FIT VOLVO S40, but they 100% fit 2000-2004 volvo V40 (wagon) along with https://www.amazon.com/Bilstein-19-118703-Replacement-Shock-Absorber/dp/B009FU5F92/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1468751794&sr=1-1&keywords=Bilstein-19-118703 FOR REAR SHOCKS 2000-2004 V40.I replaced all 4 at once and my suspension is like new again.

These struts are great. They fit our 2004 s40 Volvo. Took them to a shop to compress and then installation was fast. Remember there's a right side and left side strut, they are not the same. This one (71484) and 71483. It's always a good idea to replace them in pairs.

The Monroe 71484 Sensa-trac does not fit a 2000 S40 Volvo production date 4-00. I purchased these in February of 2011 and finally went to my mechanic to install them on April 20, 2011. I was upset to find out that the holes did not match up at all for the stabilizer bar. So buyers beware if you purchase the Monroe 71484 and the Monroe 71483 because they will not fit.
