Works good. Just make sure you install it upside down from what you think it should be. I can steer my tractor again

Fit like a glove and the best thing is the design change along with the replacement pinion gear (Murray 690183MA Pinion Gear) make it so the way the bearing wore should not happen as the pinion gear slides into the bearing rather than being flush as it was on the original part.

Good fit and finish. The original finally gave up the ghost and my steering went out on my murray mower. The steering shaft was galled fairly bad so I knew this replacement needed some help to make it last. I drilled and tapped the bearing and added a zerk fitting to be able to keep grease in it. This bearing is made from an oil-laden metal that, in normal applications, lubricates the bearing surfaces as it wears.

Accurate fit for the Scotts Mower 52"I drained and removed the fuel tank to get access. The C-Clip removal at the steering gear was the hardest part of the process as I needed to apply some penetrating oil and wait a dayThis bearing makes a very noticeable difference in the ability to steer the large tractor.I can now see that this was failing for a couple of seasons.

I own a Murray model # 405002x8A. The original part # 94124 wore so bad that the lawnmower quit steering. While this part is listed as a replacement for part # 94124 it is not exactly the same. Here's the problem: The original steering bearing on my lawnmower mounted on top of the steering plate. So I assumed this one mounted on top as well. However, when mounted on top of the steering plate there is not enough room to secure the snap ring to the steering post to hold the pinion gear in place. I was very frustrated to say the least. I was even considering grinding it down to gain the extra clearance needed to secure the snap ring to the steering post. Then it hit me. Once I mounted this steering bearing to the bottom of the steering plate I had the clearance needed to properly mount and secure the pinion gear. Hopefully this will save someone else hours of frustration. Don't assume it mounts to the top of the steering plate like part # 94124 does on some lawnmowers. However, once mounted correctly your steering will feel as good as new.
