NICHE CYLINDER
- ATV engines come with either one or two cylinders

NICHE PISTON
An ATV piston is a component of engines, pumps, and gas compressors. It is located in a cylinder and is made gas-tight by piston rings. In an engine, its purpose is to transfer force from expanding gas in the cylinder to the crankshaft through a piston rod and or connecting rod
Piston Anatomy
A piston is a cylindrical engine component that slides back and forth in the cylinder bore by forces produced during the combustion process. The piston acts as a movable end of the combustion chamber. The stationary end of the combustion chamber is the cylinder head.
Piston Components
ATV Piston components include the piston head, piston pin bore, piston pin, skirt, ring grooves, ring lands, and piston rings. The piston head is the top surface of the piston which is subjected to tremendous forces and heat during normal engine operation
NICHE GASKET
A gasket is a mechanical seal which fills the space between two or more mating surfaces, generally to prevent leakage from or into the joined objects while under compression.
Some Types of Gaskets:
- Head gaskets create a seal between the engine block and cylinder head. This seal establishes a proper compression and prevents fluid leaks into the cylinders
- Base gaskets create a seal between the top-end of your engine and the engine cases. Stop pesky engine oil leaks before they cause permanent damage to your engine.
- The valve cover is sealed to the upper section of the engine cylinder head by a valve cover gasket. As it passes around the camshafts, rockers, and valves, the gasket stops engine oil from seeping out.

Cylinder skirt is very thin 2nd one I've seen come off and fill the bottom end with metal chunks .skirt breaks off easy

The kit was good. I did not find a cylinder o-ring in the gasket kit and the valve cover gasket would have been nice to have. Everything was within manufacturer specs. I didn't really like the c clips for the wrist pin as they are just a c shape and very stiff. An improved design would help with install. Overall for the price it's well worth it. A note, the big bore kit removed a lot of thickness from the cylinder, hasn't caused a problem but I didn't really like how thin it was. In retro I prob would have bought the standard kit.

Turned my 400 into a incredible woods machine! Have about 14 hours on the rebuild can outrun 450s in the woods and can run with them on the straight aways. Packaged and wrapped very well arrived in 2 days had everything put back together and running 2 hours after it arrived so far so good

Should of come with rocker cover. Check ring gap. But other than that my bike runs better than ever. Very impressed

It got the job done and my 4 wheeler runs. You can definitely tell it's not the best quality but it worked. It you want more power with the rebuild buy a cam too

Comes with some gaskets but didn't include head cover gasket, which is just as important as the other gaskets they do include with the kit. Doesn't make much sense to me but other than that I have no complaints.
