Brake Caliper
Where?
- A brake caliper straddles each rotor in the front, which is mounted to the wheel hub
How many?
- While many ATVs have 4 brake calipers, 1 for each wheel, it is not uncommon for an ATV to have only 3 calipers.
How it works?
- When the brakes are applied, brake fluid is pushed from the master cylinder to the caliper piston. The force of the brake fluid causes the piston to apply pressure to the brake pads, which then squeeze the rotor. The friction and heat created by the brake pads on the rotor creates a drag on the rotor

After searching the stock replacement for my yamaha 450, i found this one for much cheaper. Hooked it up just fine, stock replacement pads fit well, bled the brakes and it works like a charm.
