This OMMO Laser Level is easy to level with its beeping function, and once level it works great in three planes, 365 degrees. I used the three-point stand and the adjustable height platform to level my deck foundation. It worked well. The only con: it's hard to see the green laser line in full sun. But in morning/evening light and on cloudy days it's visible enough to mark your levels. I placed sheets of white paper to see the green lines more clearly against some mottled stone and concrete. The package, which comes in a protective carrying case and all the accessories--including a spare battery!--is a bargain. The horizontal and two vertical planes give it great flexibility. You could get a brighter unit for many times the cost, but with that caveat, and the low price I paid, I highly recommend it.

Great for laying out a floor or wall for tile, setting cabinets, getting counter outlets to the SAME height. And what a great value. It does a self-leveling horizontal line and/or one vertical line straight up or TWO vertical lines at right angles to each other, drawing an X on the floor below my tripod, across the floor, and right up the walls. It comes with a mini-tripod that raises it just enough off the ground to make vertical lines visible, even on a slightly wavy floor, to let you get your tile laid out just right. Very few levels are so versatile. I'm not sure what I CAN'T use it for. And it's accurate. They say it's off by 1mm per 7 meters. That's like 1 inch in over 500 ft. (Has a remote I haven't tried yet to turn it on and off from across the room.)As far as things I'd change, it's magnetic and so can fix it to the corner drywall cornerbead or any other metal surface, but I wish it was stronger. People complain that when you take it off self-level to say, make it cast a V on a wall for laying out patterns, it beeps the whole time it's on. Company calls it a feature. Owners think otherwise. I've never used it that way yet. You can always turn it on when you need a line and turn it off when you don't.

I bought this for a couple of uses during a remodel:- Layout out reference lines and starters for 500 sq-ft engineered flooring- Layout of tile for kitchen backsplashMy flooring project wrapped through three rooms and involved multiple angles. Before layout out my reference lines with the laser I checked for accuracy using the handy dandy pythagorean theorem and it came out true (as close as it could be measuring with a tape measure). I then was able to use the laser to line up a perpendicular start line along an existing tile floor that I would be butting up against, and for several other reference lines further into the project. I was then able to take measurements off of those reference lines and draw out my entire project in CAD and plan out the best layout for the floor to hit all the walls/cabinets/angles in the best way possible. Even though I did check for straightness/squareness, I did have my doubts that such an affordable device would be straight - however the finished product turned out exactly as planned, so the results speak for themselves.I'm very happy with this purchase, and though I have yet to do the backsplash tile, I have used it for re-hanging pictures on re-painted walls. This gives me great confidence in the horizontal laser as well as the two Vertical ones I used for hte floor layout. The included accessories are a bonus, I did find the mini tripod and magnetic mount handy, but the adjustments on both of those are very difficult to make when trying to make micro-adjustments. I found using on a camera tripod I had was the best use for me being that the laser had a better angle to go across the floor over the 20-25 feet I needed it to; otherwise it was a little dim to make it the entire way.I'd recommend this product to others, it seems there were a couple bad units some other reviewers got though, so double check the accuracy when you receive yours!

My contractor had a name brand laser level that he used extensively during some remodeling work at my house. I immediately wanted one, but balked at the price. So I took a chance on this more affordable model. I since have found it immensely useful, so much so that I rarely use a bubble level anymore. After a year of flawless operation, I had it precariously perched on top of a tripod, on a platform 10 feet above concrete (using it to ensure my siding install was perfectly level). It fell and broke both the level and the tripod. This was entirely my fault. I immediately went inside and purchased another of the exact same model, without even browsing others--a sure sign that I am very happy with this product. Some additional pros: The lasers (vertical and/or horizontal) can be turned on with or without the leveling function activated. It comes with a nice case and some accessory hardware that can be useful in contexts where a tripod is inappropriate, and comes with 2 batteries. There are 1/4 inch threaded holes on both top and bottom, which makes it easy to use with a tripod, including in a position where you might hang it from the top. Some minor quibbles: The operation, while simple, is not 100% idiot proof. When looking down at the laser level, there are 3 keys--a power button and H and V keys. The user's instinct is to press those buttons to turn on the power and then activate the Horizontal and/or Vertical lasers. However, doing will not activate the leveling function. For leveling, you instead use the slider on the side of the unit. This is not a problem once you get used to it, but may confuse first time users.
