I have this under the sink with a carbon filter. It works great, I can taste the difference. I also put a whole-house filter in and it catches the brown rusty things entering the house water system.

I like the clear plastic so you can see filter condition. Robust. This is a strong unit.I used this to get away from expensive disposable water filters for my dispenser. Two of these units, and enough filter elements for years, cost the same as 6 months of the disposable type! Plus a far better filter with 1 micron sediment and 1 micron carbon filtration!

I used this housing to set up a post-Reverse Osmosis De-Ionization Filter. It was super easy to set up. I mounted it directly to the wall next to my current filter setup in about 5 minutes. No leaks present after installing, and everything seems to made out of high quality materials. Will fit any 2.5"x10" filter canister, like a sediment, carbon, or refillable like I used.Seems to be fairly priced, so no complaints there. The only gripes I have is that it doesn't come with any fittings, or filter canisters, so you'll need to buy those as well.Overall, if you need to add a filter in-line in pretty much any scenario, this thing is a pretty good option to consider, and I would buy it again if needed.

Clear case is nice and no leaks. Good quality. Bought a second one. First one works for 5 years with no issues.

Love this filter housing- cheap initial costs, minimal upkeep, good flow rate for one sink, and good quality. Gotta have the right tools and parts for it though. Details matter. For filters- go Pentek brand name for a proper fit and quality filter- CBC-10 Carbon Block Filter Cartridge, 9-3/4" x 2-7/8", 0.5 Micron as the primary workhouse, followed by either a GAC-10, or Pentek CC-10 Coconut Carbon Drinking Water Filters (9.75" x 2.875") will produce some noticeably delicious water. Gave my friend who's sold on Fiji water a blind taste test- she swore by my water, doubling down that she believed it was 1) Fiji brand water and 2) superior in taste, before I broke the news she was raving about my tap water. Don't waste your money on generic filters that are not going to fit right and may not be certified. I'm extremely frugal so I don't say that lightly. For a sediment filter, if funds allow, I'd recommend a larger model altogether, at 20x4.5" Pentek actually makes a decent water softener filter, depending on how much sediment you have. The other key part of the install is the fittings- I had to go to HD for a proper set up sizing and pricing on amazon is a terrible place for info at the moment. Your hoses will differ, but under my faucet, an extra 3/8"x3/8" braided compression cable, John Guest 3/8" OD blue tubing, and JG 3/8" NPT to 3/8" push to connect adapters between the filter housings worked great, without restricting flow. I found their 90 degree elbow connectors at both ends of a multi filter filter setup, with straight 3/8 in. male NPT x 3/8 in. Push-to-Connect Male Connectors in between, fit perfectly. High grade sealant tape highly recommended. The fittings are close to $2 each in 10 packs at HP, or about $4-4.50 each at the store. Can use a JG straight adapter 3/8" Tube OD x 3/8" NPTF Male JG at the end to change back to switch back to the regular braided stainless lines my sink uses. Can run a JG t-tap with check valves and/or shut off valves to external water reservoirs with ease. 1/4" od push to connect hosing slows things down- 3/8"od works great.

These 3/8" port housings are just right for under-sink or point-of-use setups. In my case, I bought several to use under my sink. The 3/8" port is a good size that allows for a decent connection between the housings without being too big. Larger ports become more of a challenge to seal leak-free.My housings do not leak except from the button...and that's really the only problem I have. The red "pressure relief" button is really not a useful feature, because you can relief pressure by shutting off the supply water and opening a faucet. On my housings, the water seeps out around the button but never really develops into a full-on leak. What seems to help is pressing the button to release any trapped air within the filter, and also turn the button by twisting it. Doing this seems to help it get a better seal and eventually it stops leaking. I bought 5 housings and all of them leaked at the button, but not enough to make me want to return them and pay extra for button-free housings. In case anyone is wondering how to connect these easily:3/8" NPT male/male threaded nipples between each housing lid3/8" NPT to COMPRESSION fittings on the supply side and flow side, typically 3/8" as wellI used stainless fittings for the nipples found here on amazon, but the 3/8 compresion to NPT adapters were a lot cheaper at a local home store. Low-lead brass was the only option. I used compression hoses to connect from the water supply and to the cold line of my kitchen faucet.

Great filters. Uses inexpensive filters...not like the Rainbird ones that use costly filters. I have 2 of these on my well as pre-filters in front of the main filter...you lose some pressure sure, but the I'd rather change a $2 50u once a month, a 2$ 5u twice a year and a $50 polyspun annually. These are very high quality and highly recommended.
