Product Description

These shelf pegs are constructed of plastic and come in a clear finish for increased concealment. They are designed to receive 1/2 inch thick shelves and can support a maximum of 5 lbs. each, per peg. The main feature of these shelf pegs is the self-locking tabs that secure the 1/2 inch thick shelves in place, preventing tipping and rotating of shelves. The 1/4 inch outside diameter pegs have a 5/16 inch depth and feature serrated stems for a stronger grip. See Prime-Line parts U-9395 for 5/8 inch thick shelves, U-9397 for 3/8 inch thick shelves (w/5mm outside diameter peg) and U 9398 for 3/4 inch thick shelves. Adjustment tip: to remove and relocate these support pegs, the tabs which lock in the shelves must be pushed in and held in while twisting the shelf upward in a clockwise direction if lifting the shelf from the left side. If shelf will be lifted upward starting from the right side, push and hold in the locking tabs of the support pegs (on the right) while twisting the shelf upward in a counter-clockwise direction from the right side. To accomplish this task a third or fourth hand may be required. Another option would be to slide in a couple of old credit cards or business cards in between the shelf's edge and the locking tab of the support pegs. This may assist causing the locking tabs to be pressed in by the cards when pushing up on one side of the shelf. Make sure the cards to be used are no longer needed as it is possible they will scratch and no longer be useful. Once the shelf is removed from its supports, the supports can be pulled out from the cabinet and relocated to desired height.

From the Manufacturer

This product is only available thru Amazon, you go to Home Depot or Lowes, they don't carry this. I have been looking for these shelf pegs to add more shelves in my cabinet.

Got these to replace clips after breaking the existing ones when trying to flip a bowing shelf, in a cabinet installed in 2002. It is the same unit number, and the clips look the same at first, but the clips are not identical. The post part is a touch too big, so we had to widen the hole just a bit. The clip part is longer than the original, so the shelf keeps that section pushed down instead of it snapping back over the shelf, if that makes sense. The clips are working so far, after adjustments were made. I was glad to find a similar clip.

I first bought the wrong shelf clips. I didn't realize I had to measure both the thickness of the peg part AND the thickness of the shelf itself. Once I got the right size, they worked great! You simply put them where you want the shelf to be, then put the shelf above the pegs, then lower the shelf until all the pegs click to hold it in place. You might have to bang a bit on part of the shelf to get the pet to click.

Fits perfectly and hold the shelves good. Its so easy to install and low cost. Its install for a while now and it handles the shelves weight with all the things I stack on it without deforming.

These seemed to be an exact replacement for our broken shelf holders.Unfortunately only plastic seems to be available. We have had shelves spontaneously collapse with plastic shelf holders.Wish manufacturers would use more durable metal.

For a plastic clip these feel nice and solid. Installed easily (make sure the pin is the right size!) and the shelf clipped in place nicely. Keep in mind that this is for 1/2 inch shelves - if yours it thicker (I have some shelves that are 3/4 inch, too) than it won't work well due to the bit that holds the shelf in place. But if everything's the right size then this is an excellent product.

I had a down shelf for months, unable to find the right self-locking shelf pegs. I finally found these and they were the perfect fit and replacement. The only difference between these and the ones I needed to replace is that these are a hard plastic while the others had been soft, bendable plastic. These made for a tighter fit with one of the shelves but I suspect I can expect these to hold up longer under weight due to their rigidity. If trying to determine what size you need: The 1/4 peg is about the diameter of the eraser on a #2 pencil. I wasn't sure which I needed but found that tip on another site online and it helped. I also measure one of my old pegs. This is a 6-pack--something else I was unsure of based on the product details. The little amazon icon said 6-pack but the description says "Item Package Quantity:1." But it is indeed a 6-pack and a good value. The pricing was comparable to the national brand DIY home improvement store's dot com but shipped faster from Amazon, so I bought it here and was pleased.
