So this is #9 size lamp chain. You can get 10ftof #10 lamp chain at lowes for ten bucks in the hardware section (not the light section). I bought this to add some length to an existing fixture that was apparently even thicker, possibly #8, so while this is thicker than big box store decorative chain, its not by alot, and probably not worth 4x (though admittedly I haven't seen 10 ft of this exact chain cheaper). The strand i got was faded and dark in various spots and not shiny throughout. There were some grey and other dark links. See photos..

Perfect for my hanging lamp . The chain that came with lamp was cheap and thin. This is a good upgrade

I needed more chain for a 17' cathedral ceiling and this did the job for two different light fixtures. One in the foyer and one in the formal dining area.

I looked for a while to find a sturdy chain that had the rating and looked stronger than what I found in my local stores. The brushed nickel matched my other fixtures just fine. When trying to open/close a loop with a pliers, I could tell it was strong and I don't have any concerns with it holding up my light. I'd guess it weighs only around 25 lbs. I'd just make sure that you purchase a good quality ceiling cap since that is what attaches to the light fixture in the ceiling.

Worked great to hang my light from my vaulted ceiling. Even managed to finish the job without falling off the ladder. Pat on my back!
