First off before I bash this part, most of my annoyance is with Yamaha for not including this $2 part in the water pump kit. As with other knock off amazon items I have purchased in the past, it looks right, but doesn't function. It should have one of those random syllable like donfoupoo, waywego or something. The O.D., and I.D. of the plastic ring look the same, but there is no inwards taper on the I.D. So it doesn't conform to the taper made into my drive shaft. Get the oem one, don't put questionable parts on the most important part of an outboard.

Had to order separately as the water pump kit doesn’t include this spacer/slip cover. Installation was easy and seems to fit perfect.
