Your cart is empty.Salvinia cucullata is a less common floating plant with small nickel sized leaves filled with pouches of air. Unlike other similar floating plants, Salvinia does not have long roots that drape into the water column. This small floating fern can grow into thick mats that cover the entire top of the tank and block out light from below. Its perfect for low tech aquariums and paludariums.

Received just leaves on some and others barely had any root system. STAY AWAY AND DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Packaged well. Plants did not look a bit stressed. After 24 hours in aquarium the leaves “bloomed” & feeder roots dropped. The roots have an upside down anemone look.

Purchased several plants from SubstrateSource and unfortunately the red root floater did not make it. The other plants were very healthy and are doing good. SubstrateSource got back to me (within 8 hours) and refunded my money. I will definitely shop her again! 😁 Appreciate the good customer service!

I purchased 5 different plants without looking at the upcoming heatwave. Plants were perfect despite being left on my step at 40C for a couple hours. Exceeded my expectations.

I have searched for a while to find this plant none of the local stores carried this and I looked on other sites online and it was always way too high priced. This plants has already tripled in size and doing really well.

I had the red rooters in my tank for no more than a day or 2 max the plants itself formed a white puffy mold on them so I had to take them out of my tank. Due to these develing mold most of my fish started to die. I had to treat my tank with bacterial an for safe measures a fungal treatments. Out of the 8 fish 2 survived my 2 snails also survived. I lost 6 fish due to buying these plants.

These plants are super small. I’m not sure they will survive. They didn’t have much roots and the leaves were shriveled somewhat. They arrived on a cold December day so, the weather may be part of the problem. They did not live. I’m not sure they were actually alive when they arrived.
