When should change the reeds?
When the treble is not good, the reeds are attached to the mouthpiece, which means the reeds are already very soft, and it must be changed. Also, when you feel that the tone has dropped a lot.
How to Install a Alto Sax Reed?
1. Place the thin end of the reed in your mouth to soak or put it into a container of water to soak;
2. Lay the flat side of the reed on the flat side of the mouthpiece;
3. Carefully place the ligature over the reed;
4. Make sure the tip of mouthpiece is almost perfectly even with the tip of reed;
5. Adjust the reed by the sides with your thumb - don't touch the tip;
6. Tighten the screws firmly to make sure the ligature can not slide off, but not too tight.
Warm Tips
1. The new reed is relatively dry and hard, and the vibration is not sufficient. It should be soaked in cold water for about 2 minutes before use (the front end of the bubble reed). You can prepare a few reeds for change, which can effectively extend the life of the saxo reeds
2.Take care when you install or place it, if the tip is broken or curved, the reed can't be used again.
3. After each use, it's suggested to be gently washed with the water and absorbed the rest water with paper, put it in the ventilation and store it the case.
🔔Note
Spots on the reeds don't affect the use at all. During the growth of the reed, some parts are not covered by the leaves. When the dew gathered on these parts, and after exposure to the sun, the spots are formed.;Some professionals specially choose this kind of reeds, since that means the reed are grown in sufficient sunlight.

These reeds worked fine for me while practicing. The sound quality is pretty good for an advanced player. I only got these so that I could try them out, and I don't mind practicing on them sometimes to save money on reeds and use the nicer ones for performing and practicing for those specific performances.Definitly wouldn't use all the time, but they aren't bad for a decent player who only uses them sometimes for practicing.

To me they are great value for a student or for practice playing. I even use them just to play around the house. I don't preform I just love playing songs on my alto saxophone. For my uses they are great. I can get them wet easily to get a great sound and they stay in place one I put the ligature on and tighten down. I try to be super careful when using reeds so I am less likely to damage the reeds so far they seem to be just a durable as my normal choice of reeds. I would probably buy these again.

Even though there is a lot of variation between reeds, I'm not sure you can beat the price. If one could get a package of 3.5 at the same price that would be an even better bargain. At 2.5 you don't have a lot of room to make adjustments. So, these reeds I can only recommend for practice or students. That said, one may find a diamond (or two) in the rough within this package. I recommend sanding down the bottom just enough to make it smooth and then the top as well, again, just to put a smooth finish on it, using 400 grit sandpaper. This process takes very little sanding and I mean very very little. I would soak them and then seal them. These reeds will play but unless you find that diamond in the rough I probably wouldn't use them on a pro gig. As a student you'll have reeds for weeks from this box.

These reeds are probably average at best. I did notice a lot of variation in the selection of reeds. These are good enough to be my practice reeds, also if you know how to work on your own reeds to improve them they may be worth giving a try. Issues I had were inconsistent with thickness, the tip rails were not consistent all the way though on several reeds.

I ordered the 20 pack of 2.5 strength alto sax reeds for my son. They come in two plastic cases with 10 in each. I ordered these for my son who plays the alto sax in school. He has been using them and has no complaints. They meet our needs for someone who is not super advanced playing the alto sax.

These are excellent quality reeds. They are thin, but still quite durable. They are easy to get the right amount of wet to get a good, whole sound. They stay in place on the mouthpiece well. Overall, great!
