Your cart is empty.For 1982 to 1996 engines, there are some 1996 and 1997 models that apply. . Fits oval 4" Y-pipes with round pin holes. If you have two rectangular holes for the grommets you need the A1 water shutters. If your Y-pipe changes size a few inches bellow the shutter you have a one piece manifold V6 Y-pipe and need shutter A2. If you have ever overheated these tend to get damaged. Sometimes you will find pieces of them in the exhaust when you remove the drive for servicing. They help keep water from entering the engine through the exhaust.

These broke in-half after just four outings on the water. I'm having to replace them, and these water-shutters were hardly used. Yes, go with OEM. Better than hydro-locking a new engine with less than 200 hours.Follow up: Yesterday I replaced the broken water shutters with new Quicksilver shutters. I found that both sides of the engine had broken shutters. Amazon should not be selling this sort of crap.

You have to do a little machining on your y pipe by grinding on the rim so get this to seat properly.

Installation was easy. Seemed like a quality part. Temp went up quickly after a 1/2 hour of operation. One of the flaps broke off. Now I have to try and fish it out of the exhaust :(

Pulled my outdrive with less than 10 hours runtime on these exhaust shutters to find half of one down in the exhaust. Rubber cracked in two. Always ran with good water flow and no overheating during that 10 hours. Spending the extra money on oem this time around.

The plastic mouldings needed a little heat from a heat gun to clip into the exhaust lines correctly. Other than that they seem to be working as designed.
