They clamp on easily and secure the thread, but it makes it a little difficult to see what color thread is on the bobbin. They work well and I'm glad I have them.

This little things are amazing! Worth every penny and make keeping thread nice and clean and organized. Only time you can't really use them is when the spool gets really low, can't use them then because its smaller around than the cover closes (hope that makes sense). Very easy to use, only wish I could have ordered in just one color instead of multi colored.

These are very handy and they are effective, but if you have a lot of spools of thread (like I do) then try to match the color to the thread, at least in a general way. Blue for blue and purple; red for red and orange, etc. Otherwise, your eye will get confused when you are trying to pick out the right color thread for your project.
