I use this for face soap so I’m not grabbing the bar every time. You push the handle, it scrapes off a small pile of soap powder from your bar, then springs back out. Simple. Takes a few pushes to get going, but once the blade catches, it shaves clean.Mount sticks better than expected—adhesive bracket holds solid, and the whole unit pops off easy for cleaning. Smart design choice there.It’s plastic, so don’t abuse it, but for regular use, it’s holding up fine. No more slimy bars or soap dishes full of sludge.I’d buy it again. It just works—and keeps things cleaner without adding hassle.

Stabbed myself while trying to add in the bar of soap. The spring loaded metal spikes are not a good design choice.

I LOVE this. I was hesitant to purchase this at first. As is the case with anything I've seen on social media, I'm hesitant to try things in ads, but I can say that this is one of the things that I've been very happy with. It works exactly the way it should. No mounting brackets, just some sticky adhesive, which honestly is great for moving it around, or shifting things in the bathroom. Set up takes literal minutes, and it's compatible with most soaps. Just a couple pushes of the button gives you more than enough shavings to wash your hands. It comes apart easy for cleaning, and goes back together just as easy too! I really, really like this thing. If you happen to have a bunch of soap bars lying around, pick this up. I always prefer soap bars to liquid soap, but soap bars always have extra residue that just get that sort of "slime" everywhere. This eliminates that. Excellent product.

I personally could not get this product to work with the bars of soap that I like to use for handwashing. I like to use more moisturizing kind of thick lathering bars of soap. From my testing with three different bars that I left to dry as per the instructions, it didn’t work. I think this could work if you had more dry, smaller bars of soap. Something almost close to like a hotel hand bars of soap. It’s just with the bars soap that I used, it clogged the mechanism and you can’t clean the mechanism without risking your fingers. The way that you load up a bar is where you open this device that you pull back this pulley which has three spikes on it that lodges into the bar soap to apply consistent pressure once it’s in the device. I even poked myself just trying to load it up to begin with. It specifically states in the instructions that you can’t clean the inside with any chemicals or water because it uses a non-trace amount of white soap for lubrication of the gears. So I’m kind of left with two choices. I to clean it mechanically or I have a jammed soap dispenser. I just gave up.

Ordered this because hand soap is getting pricey and looking for a way to use bar soap without getting the whole bar wet.This bar soap dispenser works ok however the sticker for placement on the wall does not stick well. The bar soap dispenser is too heavy for the included one . I had to re-in force with duct tape. Until I can find my super glue. The instructions and sticky hanger are hidden inside the unit. I set it on 2 but feel I may change it to the 3 setting.The mechanism works well enough for getting soap shavings. Made of plastic it’s ok quality but I suspect at some point in the future it may need replacement.Overall the product works as it says and lowers my eco footprint as I won’t have to buy hand soap which uses bottles.

While it does grate soap, it only works with hard soap. I originally intended to use the ends of my glycerin soap loaves in this. I opened the item and it had a sticker on bubble wrap basically saying it’s not suitable for a majority of soaps.

I really love gadgets & this did not disappoint. No more soap sitting out in a soap dish & all the mess that entails. No batteries or charging required. Couldn't wait to try it out. Very easy to use & assemble (choosing one of three gears, adding a bar of soap & applying the sticky tab that holds the unit). The sticky tab really sticks & it seems very sturdy. After pressing the lever two to three times you get real fine shavings of soap. Very little shavings are required to get a nice lather. The directions indicate it comes with desiccant but it does not. Not sure its really needed. No more soggy soap dish. This is very useful, easy to use & much more sanitary.
