Sockwell used to make the best socks, but the extra price paid for only 42% virgin merino wool leaves many other socks much warmer. The other 58% synthetic fabrics leave these socks slippery and dangerous as well as engraving a deep ring to cut off circulation, but they use the same code for the good old socks and the circulation cutting-off socks. They shaved off over 1/4" on the sides and over 1/4" on the top section from socks available last summer, cheapening the very quality the packaging identifies because it cuts circulation off and the warmth is radically decreased making my feet too cold in bed without enough wool in the socks. They will be returned. Sockwell is no longer serving those who need warm and totally stretchable socks as these socks do not stretch with the least resistance. When Sockwell stops cheapening the socks, I will consider the brand again.

These socks are warm and soft, but are sturdy enough for the washer and dryer. The denim blue color is nice. Would give five stars if they were more affordable!

These are perfect for me. Wool breathes, Soft but stay up. I have Neuropathy and wear AFO's. This is the best sock I have ever had. When I couldn't get my size @ my local shoe store I looked online.

I don't usually spend this much on a pair of socks, so I'm collecting them one or two at a time. They are worth it. They are firm enough to stand up, but do not pinch or constrain circulation. They are not too long and not too short. They are also not overly thick, so they fit in lots of kinds of shoes. More sporty than dressy.

I really like theses socks for the price. These socks have a nice stretch and are comfortable. I thinks they are a really good sock for 10 plus dollars. The weave on the bottom if the foot is slightly thicker than the rest of the sock, which I appreciate. They wash well and have held up nicely with once or twice a week wearing for 8 or so months. My feet don't sweat in these as badly as a cotton sock, which is really nice in leather shoes. That alone goes a long way In the winter when you are trying to keep your feet warm.... And in warm weather when you just are tired of sweating. When I bought these, the grey and light brown were cheaper than the other socks, so those are the two I bought.

The color is a lovely heathered plum, it's hard to find socks like this in nice colors. Very high quality, they're wearing well so far. I actually bought her the largest men's pair first, thinking they'd be roomier, but these are a better fit and not much different in size.She wears a 9, I wear a 10, Sockwell large is very comfy on both of us. We both have wider calves, and this brand fits well and doesn't dig into your skin. Even as a skinny kid most socks were too tight if they went past my ankle, and it always baffled me that socks were the same circumference at the top as at the foot because most people don't have stick figure legs.After I'd tried Sockwell's light compression socks I fell in love with the brand and so I got my mom a few of their comfy socks and she's loved them all. I'll have to get these for myself, I'm jealous!

I bought these for my Step Mother-in-Law and she knew they were going to be thick, but it kind of surprised her. She has very sensitive feet and the feel was great, but felt they were too thick for her to fit in her current shoes so I suggested she use them in her house slippers and they are great for that. These socks are really great, just need to tell an older person what to expect since they are thicker.
