U might want to put some concrete in the stand, it has a tendency to blow off the table with the slightest breeze. Not exactly good for the tips.

It is a nice iron and comes back to the last temperature set after being unplugged. Only small problem was one of the nuts included didn't screw on. I was not able to find one to fit and had to add some big nuts and a sleeve on the top so I could mount it with the one nut that worked. A little wonky buts worked. I need to see if I can find some nut that fit.

I bought little guy to replace an actual soldering station that was twice the price. The station was garbage. But we this iron performed admirably. I haven’t had any issues so far. From instrument cables to circuit boards this iron has handled the job.Highly recommend.

This iron has a temperature range which can melt most no-lead solders common in modern electronics, as well as (lower temperature) tin-lead. The digitally controlled iron itself is easy enough to use, and its control is the focus of the multi-language manual. Note that the cord and unpolarized plug are two conductor, and so provide no safety ground. The wedge tip pre-installed on the iron is swappable with a selection of 5 provided alternate tips: 3 sizes of pointed round precision tips, a smallish bevel tip and a medium (around 1/2 cm) angled chisel tip.The four manual pages (per language) make no mention of provided accessories/supplies which came with the iron, so the product Amazon page on-line is supplemental. Assembling the stand is intuitive (but there is a small hole in the metal base that I have yet to find a compelling use for). The videos at the product page include putting the pieces together. The flat yellowish block is (obviously) a tip cleaning sponge which expands for use when it is soaked in water. A little spool of solder, which the product description says is "tin" is generously included, but tin alone would be unlikely, and some alloying metal is needed to reduce or prevent the tin (over time) spawning "whiskers" which would cause electrical shorts. Since the spool is unlabeled, and the description says .6 mm tin with rosin core, it's best to handle it under the assumption that it contains lead.Rounding out the extras is an 80 ml tub of non-corrosive, non-drying soldering paste and a red silicone sleeve to cover the iron's element and tip (it can take high temperature, but I'm still averse to put it over the tip above 300 C or so).The current Amazon price is reduced 26%, and that makes this kit a great buy.

(1) temperature display is off between 10 and 35% depending on setting. the higher the setting, the worse the discrepancy. (2) tips are the cheapest i've ever seen and used. i used the desoldering tip to clean out a circuit board and the tip "rusted" halfway thru my work. (3) i question the chemicals used as they were all from china. tossed them out. obviously, you get what you pay for. spend a few bucks more on a brand name. actually, i tossed the entire thing into the trash.

The power of a soldering iron is, at best, 5-10 watts, we’re not even talking about 90 watts. It is even impossible to solder a wire with a cross-section of 0.75-1 mm - there is not enough power. All in all, money down the drain.
