This 10 amp solar controller is as simple as it gets. You hook your battery into the battery side. Hook your solar panel into the solar panel side. Be careful not to exceed 150 watts on your panel or you will exceed the 10 amp capacity of this controller.I have mine connected to 120 watt portable solar panel, which provides roughly six amps input on a bright sunny day. The output is used to charge the battery in my motorcycle camper pod when shore power is not available.I haven't had any problems with this little controller, nor do I expect any. This is a great little device to use with any portable setup. Get it if you need it.

What I love about this little controller is its tiny size. It's especially good for adding a 12V battery to a solar apparatus that would otherwise only work on a sunny day. The product description originally suggested that it would work with 24V batteries as well but the unit I received is specific and only works with 12 volt batteries. Charging voltage is 14.2 volts and current up to 10A. A series of lights, red, green and blue, indicate whether the battery is charging or charged, and whether an active solar panel is connected. No other information is provided. One of the reasons I chose this controller is its MPPT designation. SOLPERK apparently markets both types of controllers. I did not find more info about this one on their web site.Things I don't like so much: The SAE connectors are, by a long shot, my least favorite connectors ever. The fact that they reverse polarity at every connection just makes it too easy to make an error and, as the instructions point out repeatedly, short out the system. You start out with the red wire being the positive, and the black negative, then after one connector, red's negative and black's positive. More than one connector? Don't lose count! Fortunately, few of my devices have SAE connectors and I'm starting to change those out and may yet do that here as well. One of the advertised features of this controller is the "waterproof" rating. This might make it attractive to use on a boat. The leads, however, are short and the connectors definitely not waterproof.

This is a great simple controller that I used to build a small power box. Its a great size for portable applications, and works really well with my 100w solar panels and 12ah battery packs.

This is a perfectly serviceable small solar charge controller with a somewhat limited feature set. As another reviewer noted, the lack of manual settings and specific documentation around it's use with Lithium batteries is a bit suspect, and I too would be hesitant to plug this into an expensive LifePo4 battery without knowing 100% how it will interact with it.I will however be using this for smaller solar setups and projects using lead-chemistry batteries, and for testing purposes.
