My husband absolutely loves this speaker. Our neighbors not so much. It’s really loud at 1/2 volume you can feel the air moving from the bass of the speaker.

Home audio giant Sony has a speaker system for everything, their ULT POWER SOUND series are for deep bass lovers. My new Sony ULT TOWER 10 has arrived, designed for loud volume environments that can recreate a small venue live event experience, and I am thrilled to try it out. The biggest badass looking Bluetooth speaker I have ever seen.Foremost, this is a true party-speaker; large and heavy footprint, RGB party-lighting, hardly subtle but incredible sound and versatility for group gatherings. Built with the proprietary X-Balanced Speaker, four tweeters, two mid-range units. Ask Sony what the total RMS Watts are, unpublished because such numbers are mostly irrelevant to real performance, but this is their undisputed output power champion.Sony describes X-Balanced Speaker as, "Bigger speaker area, better basslines." The square-shaped diaphragm maximizes the surface, increasing sound pressure to make it punchy, I attest that it has no distortion and excellent clarity. Take your shoes off, you can feel the bass ripple through the floor; pump up the volume and feel the beats thump. Yet the mix is beautifully balanced, the mid-range remain dialed-in, which is important for vocals.Inside the box: AC power cord, optical patch cable, wireless microphone (batteries included). This is a big floor-standing unit 3.6 feet tall and weighs 64 pounds [29kg]; the built-in caster wheels thankfully make transporting easier. I/O ports for stereo mini-jack, optical digital, USB-A, and mono 6.35mm [1/4"] AUX guitar/mic — yes, karaoke duets are possible by adding a wired mic.For wireless connectivity we have Bluetooth control via Sony Music Center & Fiestable apps that work in unison with each other. Music Center is a nice intuitive and minimalist player; Fiestable controls the party features (DJ functions, lights, karaoke). Supports HD-Audio Bluetooth codecs including near-lossless LDAC; TWS Stereo & Party Connect pairing for two or more Sony speakers, even different sized Sony speakers, linking their outputs. It can multipoint connect two phones to share control. The touch panel on the speaker offers instant controls of course but most often it will be the app; it has a slot to cradle phone or tablet.ULT button is a two-mode "deep/power" bass-boost or toggled off. The default sound profile can be customized via a 7-band EQ in the app. I love the music reproduction quality, and the volume... well, that obliterates individual needs. As a guitar player I was very curious about using for an amp, what I found is it works as well as any pro studio monitor and would be great to play along karaoke. Fine clean articulate sound with acoustic guitar; electric however needs some added gear to boost the signal (a preamp pedal is handy). If you hook up a guitar amp head this is killer and guaranteed to disturb your neighbors. I have zero complaints.I think everyone would agree much of the enjoyment will come from karaoke. RGB floor lights add ambiance and encourage the mood. The Key control button (pitch) helps step tune up or down to better match personal vocal range. The 2.4GHz wireless dynamic microphone is a nice one, gain and echo control, it has good latency. There are pull-out mic ring-holders on both sides of the speaker. You should know if you want to use your own mic as the main or second it should be a wired dynamic mic. My 2-cents: condenser mics are too sensitive for karaoke, it all depends on what you use it for; and since the speaker has no XLR plug that complicates matters (adapter must then provide both conversion & phantom power). But only the included mic works wireless — to get around this limitation you could use a wireless mic transmitter and receiver kit with the AUX input. I don't want to get in the weeds here, just saying.Only the top features any obvious splash resistance, not waterproof, but at least a bit of assurance if some fool puts down a drink on it. Although an all-in-one portable, it is bulky for transporting and has no protection, it would require careful handling (blankets at minimum). The overall construction is strong & sturdy; I hesitate to say heavy-duty because I would not toss this rig around. None of these are issues to me.My only caution is the difficulty servicing sophisticated electronics. Sony of Canada ULC provides a full Canadian warranty and authorized repair services; this is a case when an extended warranty plan may be worthwhile to consider.

I have this dude Bluetoothed to my 86 inch tv. And wow, it’s like a theater in my house now when it’s movie time. I’m hard of hearing with my old age and I can hear every word clear as day now. It’s heavy, I have to get my son to move it around for me. But it’s set up right in front the tv and it’s performance is outstanding, the bass is killer and the value you get for it is half of what it cost for a surround sound system to produce this much volume. Love it.

I have been with Amazon for well over a decade and I have never written a review before and probably never will again, but this speaker is unfreaking believable, I love it, it shakes the walls, it sounds so great if you're on the fence about buying it jump off and buy it, it is that good.

I have two SRS XV500s hooked up to a denon prime go. I always wanted one of these. $400 off for Black Friday, 0% interest over 5 months and I was sold on it. It is totally overkill for the house. I’m gonna use it in place of my B&W A7 that I use for TV and movies etc. and basically as the speaker for everything. Sell the XVs and A7 to try recoup some $$$$. It’s on wheels so will roll around as needed. It’s damn heavy I know that. I haven’t put it past 30% but have no regrets on the purchase. I didn’t know it needs power all the time, that’s a bit of a shame and a win for the XV I guess. Outdoor summers with the mixer are gonna be a whole new ball game!

This powered speaker is only about 120 RMS Watts. Sony has never really been a pro-audio brand, which gives all the specs. Consider a Mackie or JBL. The input power on the back speaker label shows the max input cord power at 139W ... meaning the actual Watts RMS is somewhere between 60 to 120W RMS. Please note that the manufacture does not use RMS and instead just watts. 5 stars rating is to get this review past the am a zonin filters.Go to a pro-audio store and look at RMS/VS peak Watts. It is so sad to see the pro-brands label like the unkown brands and give false specs. You will also notice many low reviews about battery life, which could be calculated if the Watt hours(Whr) where specified along with RMS watts! The Ion Pathfinder 3 from cost co has about same power ... near 100w RMS but much better battery and manual mixer controls at $119. Ion also has BT stereo mode for 2 speakers and bright LED party lights!
