Bought for my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.8L. It worked like it was supposed to for one week, while still triggering code for P2096- it got rid of my other one. A week later, code P2096 persisted before triggering yet another code, P0403. I tried to contact product support through this company and Amazon both, but neither one are able to do anything about it. Buyer beware, buy through a different pair of companies. This product will NOT fix your issues. You’ll trade one trouble code for two or more. My car now runs even crappier and I’m out over $40 for nothing.

Installed ONLY because I was replacing the alternator and there is 130k miles on this van. you must remove the EGR valve to replace the alternator so I replaced the EGR as well as a preventative maintenance thing as long as it had to be removed anyway. Of course I threw the old one away at time of install as even though it was good I was putting a brand new valve in so had no need for it. Wouldn't you know three weeks following install I end up with a check engine light and code for the EGR valve. Apparently valve either sucks, or the computer doesn't like it. Either way, it isn't working out and now I have to replace it again. Would not buy again.

This vehicle, with a 3.8 liter engine, was surging and hesitating when driven. It was displaying a Check Engine warning light and setting a trouble code of P0406.This replacement EGR valve was ordered Friday, July 26 and arrived Monday, August 5. Total cost was $40.92, and two replacement gaskets were included for the ports on the valve. It was installed Tuesday, August 6. An OBD Test Set was used to erase the P0406 trouble code, which after three months has not returned, and the engine operates normally.Installation note: The location of the EGR valve in the engine compartment, behind the alternator, makes it difficult to reach the mounting bolts. Rather than removing the alternator to enable installation, part of the alternator housing was filed away, just enough to provide clearance for a small ratchet wrench with an extension to remove and reinstall the bolts.

Fits exactly as original, comes complete with both gaskets. As shown on various Youtubes, it CAN be replaced without removing alternator - you will need a 10mm 1/4" drive socket, NOT deep. The bolts are VERY tight, probably more than a 1/4" drive is designed to handle, but at least on mine it worked fine. The new EGR solved my P0404 error, and the replacement didn't take more than 20 minutes in the local shopping center parking lot.

Works as advertised and clears the error codes and check engine light. Replacement is a minor pain-in-the-rear on Grand Caravan due to difficulty accessing the lower bolt. I was able to get to the bolt by first removing the upper and manhandling the assembly CCW enough to get a small 1/4" drive socket in there, thus avoiding moving the alternator. If you don't have 1/4" sockets and a few different lengths of extensions then prepare to be hassled since you probably won't get a 3/8 drive socket or wrench on it.Came with new gaskets. Build quality looked the same as the OEM unit that failed. Expect it to last as long as the vehicle.

At just over 120,000 miles, while on a road trip with my Mrs., driving through the mountains of Western Maryland on fairly warm day the check engine light in my Grand Caravan mini-van popped on leaving me to wonder for a while just what the problem was with my vehicle. When we finally go my step-daughter picked up and headed off to my sister-in-law's home, my brother-in-law kindly popped out his code reader and determined for me that the problem was related to the EGR valve. Uh, OK. That didn't sound too scary.When I checked with my local repair shop, the cost of the repair, if they supplied the part, was a good bit higher than I was willing to pay, especially considering that I had researched the part pricing here at Amazon in advance. With that information in hand, I didn't hesitate to come back and place my order for the part. It was very reasonably priced, at least relative to what the repair shop was thinking I would have to pay if I got the parts from them, and it was brand new rather than a used part if I had gone to the local junk yards to think of getting the part.I did pay the shop to do the installation, despite seeing video tips and comments online that suggested that installation shouldn't have been that difficult. Unfortunately those same tips also noted that it was a bit more complicated than might be expected due to positioning of the alternator and where at least one of the bolts that must be removed would be sitting at. In the end, rather than tearing up my own knuckles, I figured I was better off letting the pro's do the install.Since that installation was completed, as expected, the check engine light is no longer lit, the performance of the vehicle is back to where it should be, and all is right in mini-van driving land.
