I used to have a limited edition baseball hat 7 3/8 that I love but unfortunately I couldn't wear it because it was too tight to my head . It has to be stored in my closet. ( I always wear 7 3/8 size.) This hat stretcher worked perfectly for my baseball hat. In an hour my hat was fitting perfectly on my head.

Very good quality, worth every single penny. Yes, it’s a little more pricey than the other hat stretchers but after just putting it in one of my hats for 1 hour that had shrunk due to me leaving it in the dash of my car while the sun hits it, it finally fit again. The product doesn’t feel flimsy at all, the product feels strong and sturdy!!

Shipping was quick, product works well. when you stretch a hat you should probably only be stretching up to about 2cm size, otherwise you just flat bought the wrong size hat, I've used this on 2 hats, only stretched hats enough to be a comfortable fit and not too tight, this works very well. Remember it's not meant to turn a size 58cm into a size 62cm..... slight stretching so as to not damage the hat and it works great.

This hat stretcher device helped me save eight of my favorite hats that had shrunk after 20-30 yrs, including 2 oil skinned Outback hats, a wool Fedora, a wool ski cap, and a 2 Boonies! It feels terrific to be able to use these again!The canvass Outback hats took about 3 days each, in addition to steaming it w/a fabric steamer device, I also re-oiled:waxed it to make to restore its waterproofing.Tip: Rather than the wrench (hexagon) tightener, I chose the textured tightening grip, which is best used with a work glove for hat brims that are more rigid. Also, depending of you’re right-handed or left-handed, there’s an ideal orientation for the stretcher - a front end and a back end - that you can orientate with the front and back of the hat. If you’re right handed, it’s easier to tighten the grip in a clockwise manner. By labeling the stretcher with a “front” and “back” end, I can tighten or stretch the hat. After it’s stretched, I rotate it upside down, and you can again loosen/remove the stretcher by turning the grip in a clockwise direction.Overall, it’s a great looking product that really works!

I am at the upper end of usually stocked hat sizes, and as a result, many hats end up shrinking back in size, and unwearable. What makes this unit probably better than the rest is that the combination of painted surfaces, and 2D hat stretching, vs 1D, mean it really works the hat well, you can get it to go up by one size, at least. It works well on tweeds and other materials that are stiff, and breezes through materials that are flexible. The smooth paint surface means it equalizes the loads, and smoothly expands hats.I would recommend a little lubrication of the threads, possibly with sewing machine oil as it tends not to stain, but very little oil would make it smoother operating, as with any metal to metal screw system, it would not need much, and it works without any.There is an unusually long elastic that holds the parts in place when out of a hat and it comes with a replacement. I have purchased oversized elastics from Amazon, should further ones ever be needed.

Good hat stretcher. Using is has saved some of my leather and canvass hats to have more life on my head. I have definitely saved the cost of the stretcher by being able to use shrunken hats further, in addition to keeping some sentimental hats in use. The two dimensional stretching is better than other models that only stretch in one dimension (forward and back). This pushes against sides too. For the apparently wider than common shape of my head, this is feature that caused me to favor this model and that is better. Indeed I would prefer a bit more side stretch action. Easy to operate with central screw thread post. Then the side bars have inset metal guides that keep all in shape. Good product.

This stretcher was exactly what I needed and should be requested by others. I have several Vietnam Era cowboy style bush hats. All were either several size to small or just barely to small. When I received the stretcher I tested it on one of the hats. I placed it into the brim area of the hat and adjusted it to fit. Once I got it seated, I then adjusted it with about 6 turns. I could feel the brim start to stretch. I let it sit overnight and checked the next morning. It fit perfectly. But because I did a dry test, the hat returned to it's original size. But the next time I did it and with all the other bush hats, I applied water to the inside and outside of the brim area. Needless to say all the hats have maintained their new sizing. I plan to keep the stretcher, just in case, though.

Had two Harris Tweed caps that were fitting tight. Used this hat strecher along with my handheld clothing steamer and got great results without distorting the shape of the caps. Love it!
