Ok but I had to take it all apart, clean it, remove grease from where it should not be, and add it to where it should. Then it worked fine and locked in alright.

The thread on the end of the arm is much smaller than the thread on any of my magnetic bases. Be aware of that.

Contrary to what it says, it will not fit a standard magnetic base! So almost useless unless you rework it. As much as I need it right now, it would take too much effort to rework it to make it useful so returning it to Amazon.

The threads that threa s into the mag base are a fine metric thread. I had to drill a hole in the side of my mag base and buy a metric tap I'll probably never use again to get this to work. And it has no fine adjustment on it. Get less then what you paid for.

Indicator arm is good quality for the price.My problem was Amazon did not ship item in a box and the base thread mount was damaged and cosmetic damage to arm from the factory.Chased the thread with a Die and cosmetic damage does not affect performance.

Keep an eye on the length measurements when you order these. Some are quite small.Overall it works quite well

While I have dial indicators that matched the articulated arm, all of my mag bases had larger threaded holes for the M5 mounting stud. So I made up a couple of adaptors to convert the M5-80 stud to my M8-125 and M10-150 bases.Looking forward to many years of satisfactory service.
