The SHT4x is based on a newly upgraded chip with lower power consumption and higher accuracy. The supply voltage range is extended to 3.3V to 50V, making it ideal for mobile applications and battery-powered applications.

I connected two of these to an ESP8266 with a suitable script. I confirmed accurate temperature measurements, and that humidity would go up as expected when I exhaled onto the sensor. However, humidity would never drop below 60% regardless of what I did, including heating the sensor up to 120F with a hair dryer. It didn't matter whether I powered the sensor with 3.3V or 5V. After observing this with two of the three units, I'm returning them all.
