Product Description

Traxxas was started in 1986 with an idea for what was at that time an entirely new concept for a fully assembled, hobby-class R/C car. This new car would have all the same benefits of a hobby-class kit such as replaceable parts, hop-ups, and a high-quality component radio system, however it would be fully assembled with a colorful body, right out of the box. Traxxas coined the term "Ready-To-Run" (RTR) to describe this new class. Since a fully assembled, ready-to-run car would appeal to the entry-level beginner, a toll-free customer support line was set up from day one to service an entirely new category of hobby consumer. At first, acceptance of the RTR concept was slow because traditional R/C kits had always been unassembled. Once people realized that a Traxxas RTR had the same performance and quality as the traditional R/C kits, only that they didn't have to build it, the ready-to-run car was a runaway hit! A kit version would still be offered for those who still wanted to have the building experience.

From the Manufacturer

Center Differential for E-Revo and E-Maxx The new Traxxas center differential for E-Revo and E-Maxx independently transfers power from the transmission to the front and rear differentials for smooth power delivery. This is the perfect solution for putting power to the ground in rough conditions and maximizing corner speed. The center differential is sealed, and can be adjusted by using different fluid viscosities for specific driving conditions. The Traxxas center differential drops directly into the E-Revos and E-Maxxs gearbox, and is sold fully assembled and filled with 100K wt. silicone fluid.

Needs to be metal gears. Man it finally made my old v1 erevo somewhat drivable? It really is scary to drive... this definitely worked with 1 million weight in it but only half a run till I ripped the gears up...

Anyone who still runs 3905, 3903, 3908 model Traxxas E-Maxxes and 1st generation E-Revos should be running this center differential. For this center differential, I recommend 1 million weight differential fluid for the BRUSHED motor models, or Traxxas' brand exclusive 20 million weight 'fluid' for the brushless versions. The reason for the thick viscosity is because these are overtaxed 1/10th scale differentials in heavy 1/8th scale models. Anything thinner would be like water for these particular model trucks. The only real benefit of the center diff for these models is to protect the rest of the drivetrain.

if running 6s and tired of wheelies that are out of control - this will remedy it... For 6s, use at least 200k - 300k diff fluid - up to 500k but that's only if you want very limited (almost locked) diff action - less than 200k your front end will unload constantly and you'll never wheelie... Great for reaching in the 200-300k range...

Put it in my e Revo and it really helped with wheelies. But it only lasted a few weeks before the case broke apart and I had to put the stocker back in it.Just can't handle the power of a 6S revo apparently. It sucks because it made it a lot more fun to drive.

Needs to be a true 6 gear diff...this is only a 4 gear diff and needs VERY thick fluid for your front wheels not to constantly diff out. gravity RC sells thick fluids. Worked OK for my brushless 6s Maxx.

Works very well for keeping a 6S E-Maxx under control through even the most wild of terrain. It does kind of limit the maximum capability when it comes to slogging through watery ditches or getting hung up in weeds, but there is enough resistance in the stock oil to bump throttle the truck out of sticky situations.

One of my e maxxes has this center differential the other does not. A few pointers you should know;- with the 500k diff fluid wheelies are minimal at best-Puts power down tremendously better in most conditions(read below)- if you tend to rock crawl or go in very muddy conditions you should look at other products this is not intended for that.If you want to put more power down and make the truck more controllable then this is a great product! No problems from it on 5's lipo about 10-12 runs
