I struggle with weeds in my flower beds and my garden. I always put something around my plants, to help with weed block and ground moisture. I like to use paper and cardboard but it decomposes so quickly. I was looking for something inexpensive that I could use around my plants that would have a longer life. I wanted something that was a good size to cover around the plants and was easy to use. I also wanted something that was semi thick to keep weeds from pushing up through and yet breathable enough for air and water to get to the soil. This product functions perfectly. These are very inexpensive and very tough felt circles. I tried to rip them and pull them to see if they would fall apart and they do not. They are very strong which will be great for keeping the weeds at Bay but because they are felt, they will allow water to seep through to the plant. I wish I had found these sooner!

It was easy to install, BUT it did not stay flat to cover my soil, even after I placed my winter covering over it. I cannot speak on the value, durability or protection, because due to it ultimately not fitting and/or staying still, I went without eventually. I just say purchase at your own discretion.

This is an affordable back of rings that you can place around the base of a plant to prevent weeds from growing around the stem area.The material is similar to some of the fabric grow bags. It is a thin but yet tough felt-like material.It fits well in pots and also in the field. It fits very small trees and potted plants but don't expect it to work for larger trees the center ring is not big enough, but you can easy cut it to size if needed using a scissors.Easy to use.Second photo shows what it looks like when packed and shipped to you. The first photo is what the product looks like, with my hands next to it for scale.

I put these around my strawberry plants. Not only does it keep the weeds away, but they keep the berry's clean and keeps pest from the ground eating them from the bottom.

Tree Ring Mulch Mat, 16 Sheets, 12.6inch There is really not much to this product. It's just a piece of little bit heavier than the felt sheet that the kids use in projects. Because of the price and quantity of numbers I guess is okay. At the same time I did expect something different. In the long run is somewhat work because they keep the moisture in and the weeds away around the plant. But first you do have to clean all the weeds around it otherwise it will not lay flat also it would had been better if they were wider.

These circular mulch mats seem rather thin in-person. I wouldn't use them for freeze root protection in northern areas; if you're in the southern states and have mild winters with just a couple frost snaps, they might be fine.As a base for mulch, they'd be great. And as weed barriers they'll also do great.They come with the centers intact (but pre-cut and can easily be popped out), so if you want to lay these out over a wide area rather than putting them around a plant, you can do so.For the price ($5.99 when I ordered them), having them come right to my door, and getting 16sf of coverage, I think that's a pretty fair price.
