Exactly what we needed. Our camper had the spare mounted underneath the camper and it was literally a two man job to get it down and that was in the drive way. Now think about being a senior, in the rain, at night, on the side of the road thats right you need to be set up if this happens to you. While you are ordering this mount, I recommend that you order a stabilizer clamp that eliminates any vibration, a cordless impact and also a bottle jack Also you can get a torque wrench for like $30 and you are set as long as you have decent flash lights.

Heavy (14?) gauge steel with 1/2" bolts. Base plate bolts seemed to let the tire wobble until I tightened them down.Does need a 7/16 & 3/4" deep set socket, or use a Cresent wrench.

The install was easy. I had to use sockets to get a nice tight fit. I tried the hitch bolt with clip but the tire rattled too much. I removed it and reinstalled the bolt and it tightened up. The tire is held several inches from the bumper so I won’t need to flip it down to open the rear hatch. The tire wiggles enough for the hatch to clear. I have a rebuilt steel welded bumper so I’m not worried about the stress on the bumper but I just added about 70 lbs of weight. I’ll have to redistribute some storage. The carrier is rated for 60 lbs so I overloaded it but it feels plenty sturdy. The 225/75R16 tire is 39.2 lbs and the wheel is 27 lbs. The cover is lightweight. I have not driven with it yet.

It's well made and easy to install. It took me just a few minutes to put together, install on the bumper, and attach the spare tire.

This would be super easy to install for the typical 4" x 4" camper bumper. But the bumper on my camper was slightly wider on one side and much narrower on the other. By simply drilling the holes in the carrier mount one size larger the C-clamp bolt holding the carrier on the bumper wrapped around the bumper and it fit, however, the c-clamp threading was intended for a 4" wide bumper, so I simply added a wood block to the bumper width so that the c-clamp fit as intended. The sturdiness of this product is as good as the strength of the bumper. I like the fact that it folds down so that you can mount it even if there is a vent behind it to access the vent.

I purchased this for use with my camper trailer to have a 2nd spare as there has been a need before. Overall it matched the appearance of the original pretty well. I became suspect when I saw how far off the hole was drilled for mount. As an engineer I find that troubling. It looks bad, but also affects the integrity of the design. It's drilled way off the center. I will give it an update after I take it on the road in a couple of weeks.4/14/2019. Holding up great! Still disappointed with the quality of the off center hole but it doesnt seem to affect the overall function.

cheep, effective, and so easy to put together and mount. I did not use this on an RV, but rather in the bed of my truck and it is by far an improvement. I am sure the mounting bolts that come with it work great but as I mounted it on something other than what it was intended I would have to say I don't know how well they work. over all time it took me to get this out of the box put together mounted to the vehicle and the wheel and tire on it maybe 5 minutes of work.

This tire mount is reasonably priced and works well. It is easy to install. All required hardware is included and is of good quality. It took about 15 minutes to install on the trailer and another 15 minutes to install the tire. The design worked well with my 5 bolt wheel. It will probably accommodate most wheel sizes and bolt configurations..
