Like many other parts for old VWs, these appear to be made in China. That in itself isn't a problem, but for this part in particular, the quality is not there. Unfortunately there are few other choices and none seem to be any better. I bought this to replace another Uro coolant level sensor that had failed by allowing a small amount of coolant past the connection terminals. The leakage was minor but causes a coolant smell and will eventually foul up the plug. One day after installation, this sensor shows the same failure, a small amount of leakage past the terminals. If you need it, you need it, but be aware that the quality is poor.

works and fits in a MK1 VW Cabriolet. you could clean up the old sensor, but doesn't mean it will still work well. good to have a few on hand.

This took care of my problem. The old one could only be cleaned up so many times before it finally quit doing its job. It's a quick job replacing these. It included the new O-ring seal, too!
