Very sturdy and hold up very well. The wood is good quality and easy to assemble.

Wood split after I put the first screw in, making it unusable.

This fit my needs very well, which was to display a welcome sign to an event. The assembly was okay, there were instructions included, but the photos were not super clear so I'm still not sure if I put it together correctly (lol). But I have an easel standing up with a sign displayed on it, and it hasn't fallen apart on me! My framed item is a 16x20 poster in a lightweight frame (thin metal with acrylic "glass"), and it's perfect for that. I'd be careful about larger and heavier items. I couldn't screw the chain into the wood in the back leg, so I ended up sticking it on the bolt before screwing in the wing nut. Seems to be working just fine, the chain got a little caught up when turning the wingnut to tighten it, but it wasn't a big deal.

This is a very simple, straight-forward easel with no unnecessary parts and just about fool-proof for assembly. I like its clean lines and inconspicuousness, taking nothing away from what you mount on it. It's also surprisingly sturdy and the tray is wide enough for the classic frame around my lighted jewel Christmas tree, with room for the light remote. The battery box, which the remote needs to see, hangs conveniently on the bolt holding the leg parts together. I put that bolt in backwards just for that purpose. :) You'll get a smoother line putting the bolt in with the head on front. I'm very satisfied with this easel, and especially with the price.

Put together in 6 minutes. The instructions were good. Lots of reviews saying the instructions are terrible - maybe they've improved them since then. There are only a few pieces of hardware so it's pretty easy to understand which piece goes where. We used this for a foamboard wedding welcome sign (24x36") and it looked nice and did the job. It's lightweight - not the sturdiest easel out there (wouldn't use it for painting), but exactly what we wanted for the price.

It was easy to set up and take down. I will say we got one good gust of wind and that knocked it down but a little sandbag around the legs would’ve done the trick had we thought of it lol. Overall it was perfect for what we needed!!

OK, so I read the other reviews about no instructions. How hard can it be to assemble an easel without instructions? Well... harder than I thought! I found instructions on the net (see attachment). The easel is marginal at best. I bought it to display a poster as I can't hang pictures in my apartment. It holds your basic plastic-framed poster OK. I certainly wouldn't use it to display valuable art that would be damaged by an occasional fall. Here's a couple of tips on assembly. The legs are made of two pieces, the bottom has a small foot. The outer legs have a bevel at the top (the center does not have the bevel). The assembly requires the two leg pieces to overlap. Although the instructions show the top should be in front of the bottom, having the bottom in front of the top makes for a more solid platform on which the cross piece can rest. The instructions also have you install the chain during the final step. It is better to screw the chain into the back leg before attaching it to the cross piece (attach it near the area where the center leg pieces overlap). If you follow the instructions, the chain will get kicked up as the twist you make turning the screw will transfer to the chain.

I wish I would have read these reviews before ordering. I was needing easels for an event so was in a hurry to get them- so much so that I paid for 1 day shipping. I ordered 25, and all had to be put together with no instructions. After just 1 event- displaying lightweight coroplast signs, 1 easel is broken (leg snapped), 1 couldn't event be put together due to a stripped screw, and I am really wanting to return all of these and start over.
