The device works OK as minimalistic KVM, but only the KM part :-). It allows sharing 1 set of keyboard and mouse with 2 computers. It has 2 input ports, which is enough, but you can also connect a USB hub to one of the ports and share even more USB devices between 2 computers. 2 USB cables, which go to computers, were provided.

This device works very well for my situation (described below), but I do wonder if it is a good value for most people. This device is not recommended for mass storage devices like hard drives, flash drives, or memory cards. Which leads me to wonder how useful USB 3.0 will be for many people. In my situation, where I connect a backlit keyboard and a wireless mouse dongle, USB 2.0 would be sufficient. Closs makes a somewhat similar product which has 4 ports for accessory connection, and a power input port (which isn't needed for my use case), which is less than 1/2 the cost of this device. The device has an interesting property (which you may or may not want), if you turn on the second computer while the first computer is running, it seems to automatically switch to the second computer. The build quality seems very good, and included cables seem to be of high quality.I'm rating this product as 4 stars, the average of 5 stars for quality and 3 stars for value.

"Safe purchase, works excellently. The semi-automatic selector means I barely need to use the selector button. Highly recommended."

Few things in life work exactly as they are sold to you to do. This thing simply works. I can't rate the longevity of it, but it does exactly what its intended for and it does it well. It came with two necessary cables to connect to both computers, has a light to tell you which device its currently active. I can't really ask for better. Pressing the button swaps between the two literally at the touch of the button. It's quick. It requires no drivers. If you need one to swap a keyboard and mouse between two computers I can safely recommend this product.

This USB switch has been a fantastic addition to my setup! It's incredibly convenient for sharing devices like my keyboard, mouse, and printer between two computers. The switching process is seamless and takes only a press of a button, saving me so much time and hassle. The build quality is excellent—sturdy and durable enough to handle everyday use. It's also super easy to set up; I had it up and running in minutes without any complicated instructions. What I really appreciate is its compatibility—it works perfectly with all my devices and supports USB 3.0 for fast and stable connections.

I had a very simple need - ability to easily switch two USB devices (combo wireless mouse/keyboard and a webcam), from my work laptop to my work desktop. I do not need monitor switching or advanced functionalities, since the systems otherwise run independently of each other - but I was getting tired of plugging and unplugging those two same cords all the time. This device is a super simple solution. Plug the inputs into the two PCs on one side, plug the devices on the other. Hit a button. Switch is pretty much immediate and easy peasy. Love it!

Works perfectly.I have 2 computers on my desk, along with 2 monitors, and 2 keyboards, and 2 mice. Now with 2 computers plugged in to the KVM, I can easily switch control of both with the same keyboard and mouse by pressing the button. Does exactly what I wanted and I can retire my extra set of keyboard and mouse and free up a lot of desk space.Would've been nice to have HDMI in as well so only one monitor is needed, but for certain scenarios, having two screens and being able to see both simultaneously is a good thing too, so I can't complain too much.

I want to start by saying that I’m by no means an I.T. expert. My initial goal was to use this device to switch between two computers using just one monitor. Maybe that’s possible, but I’m not sure how it would work with only USB. I clearly wasn’t thinking it through when I ordered it.That said, this product does exactly what it’s designed to do—and it does it well. You can connect your USB devices, like a mouse, keyboard, speakers, and more, to the hub. Then, using the two provided USB cables, you connect one to each computer. When you want to switch to computer 1, press the button, and all your USB peripherals will work with that machine. Press it again, and they switch to computer 2. It functions flawlessly. This is a great item if you want to run two computers without having two sets of USB accessories. I’m very pleased with it!

Update: Works with mac when attached via docking station with the USB cable provided. But mac doesn't detect it when directly connecting the switch via USB C to A. Thats an inconvenience because now I need to keep the docking station hooked to make the switch work.I have a PC and a work laptop connected to two monitors. I hated manually switching cables so I set up 2 keyboard and 2 mice for one computer each.Using this KVM allowed me to get rid of one keyboard and mouse since I can use the same set for both of the computers with this. Its so easy to switch the computers with flick of a switch, and it also has an indicator about what computers is currently active. My desk looks cleaner now with less devices on it and reduced wire clutter. The build quality is really solid. The device has a metal casing and the USB ports and the switching button feel sturdy. I can gladly recommend this to anyone looking to make their multi-computer setup more streamlined.

I originally was going to rate this low because it wasn't registering the devices connected to it. It turns out, I had daisy chained this with another hub and even though this is a "switch", it registers as a "hub" and that was not working out. Directly connecting a few devices in seemed to work ok. For what it's worth, I'm impressed because I have it connected to a webcam and a headset and it was fine. One thing to note, a lot of these devices (there are many that use this form factor and are quite possibly the same product rebranded) violate the USB spec which calls for a different connector on the hub side (should be a 3.0 micro-B, 3.0 B, or a C connector). They do this to avoid the bulk so they can keep it slim, but they could have just used a UCB-C to avoid that altogether. Even so, it still works ok, you just need to keep that in mind if you have to replace that cable ever. There is no such thing as a USB-A to USB-A cable according to proper spec.

Works exactly as described. Ordered so that i could use the same keyboard and mouse on my desktop and my laptop when it is docked.Item Arrived well protected in mostly recycleable packaging.I was quite impressed that it does not simply connect and disconnect the devices when switching. Both computers maintain connection to the keyboard and mouse, but only the selected computer gets input from them. This speeds up switching as i do not have to wait for the USB device to be recognized every time it switches.Additionally, the device seems to auto select the computer that is turned on, when only 1 is powered up. Practically speaking, i rarely have to actually switch the inputs because only 1 device is in use at a time.Very impressed with this device.

I was looking for a way to use my wireless mouse with my main PC and my secondary PC without having to pull out that little USB dongle.I saw this and thought I'd give it a try. It's very easy to use, feels well made, and does exactly what it is supposed to do flawlessly. Given the pricepoint, this is a solid purchase.

This USB switch is exceptionally well constructed and durable. The button has an excellent tactile feel. I use it to switch a webcam and conference room speakerphone between two computers and it works great for that. The only thing I don't like about it is that, if one of the computers is off and the switch is set to the other computer, it will switch computers when the computer that was off is turned on. Some may find this to be a feature but I don't because I sometime use it with one computer while on a call and it switches when I turn on the other computer, interrupting my audio and video for the call.
