It's really simple to use and it also functions like a USB hub, making it such a versatile accessory. I like using it to connect my Steam Deck to my Occulus OR I can connect my Switch to my Occulus using this. However, since it's 1080P 60 HZ you can't really use it for gaming as you have to be a bit more mindful of what you play.

It would appear that Vangree had gamers in mind when they developed their USB-C Video Capture card; but that’s not me. I’ve been looking for ways to live stream video wirelessly from my iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the Vangree USB-C Capture Card caught my eye as a likely candidate. Does it work for that purpose? It does.I haven’t figure everything out yet, for example, will it pass through sound captured from a wireless mic. And if so, how’s it connected? There is a pin connected audio output port, but that’s audio from the iPhone’s microphones, and meant for monitoring sound live. I am able to connect an external SSD to the USB-C 3.0 port that is recognized by the phone. Also, the USB-C PD port allows me to supply external power from a power bank to the iPhone while it’s recording; that’s handy.I’ve been pleased with the Capture Cards performance in so far as my needs are concerned. There doesn’t seem to be any noticeable latency. The electronics are housed in an aluminum case with a rubberized bottom. There are LEDs associated with the USB-C in port and the capture port. It is light weight and portable, great for a video rig built around a mobile phone. One thing I will mention here is Vangree’s customer support; they are responsive, informed and helpful. I also have one of the there USB-C hubs, and in both cases, this capture card and the hub, quality is evident. For those interested in the setup I used, I connected the phone to the USB-C in port of the capture card using the provided USB-C to USB-C cable. I used an HDMI cable to connect the card, from its HDMI out port, to the wireless transmitters HDMI in port. The wireless receiver was connected to a laptop with an HDMI capture card; HDMI in, USB-C out to the computer. Video was streamed to OBS software. To produce and feed the video out of the iPhone, I used the Blackmagic Camera app. Once in the app, go to settings, the path is as follows: “Settings” -> “Monitor” –> “HDMI Out” -> select “Video Feed.” Once Video feed is selected, toggle “Clean Feed” to the on position. The app settings would be the same if, for example, rather than a wireless transmitter, a field monitor was connected to the phone using the capture card; it’s a handy device for the videographer. The card is supplied with two quality cables, a USB-C to USB-C and an adaptable cable from USB-A to USB-C or, with the adapter attached, USB-C to USB-C. The cables are heavier than usual and all of the USB-C connectors are solid all the way around; they don’t have the seams found on cheaper cables. Also included are user manuals with physical connection diagrams and OBS settings. All good; no complaints. All good; no complaints. It's a cool little device.

This is a visually pleasing capture card especially for switch owners and once you get it set up it's really easy to use and does it's job well. It works about as well as most other entry level capture cards so it's not going to be better than a well known brand but it's not going to be awful either. It also does a pretty good job as a usb hub in the hub mode. Now, the thing I find odd is. I don't really need both and not being able to use it as both at the same time kind of makes it a weird hybrid that is a step back and not forwards. I would be better off having a separate dock with extra ports and just use this as a capture card as opposed to switching it back and forth. It's a nice combo item but it might have been better if it had focused on one product design instead of shoving them together.Still highly recommended at this price point.

I'm using this to pass video to my meta quest headset. This has worked well. The latency is low, and playing games from external sources works just fine. Would recommend for this purpose.

This Vangree USB-C Video Capture Card has been a solid addition to my streaming setup. It’s clear that this device was designed with gamers in mind, but I’ve been using it to stream from my iPhone 15 Pro Max, and it’s performed well. It’s lightweight, portable, and built with a sturdy aluminum casing that feels high-quality.Setting it up was relatively straightforward, though it did take some trial and error to get everything working smoothly. I used it to stream video from my phone, connecting the capture card to a wireless transmitter and then to OBS software on my laptop. There’s a bit of a learning curve, especially with the cable connection order, but once everything was plugged in correctly, the device streamed seamlessly with almost no latency. The USB-C PD port is a nice feature—it allows me to keep my phone charged while recording, which is a huge plus during long sessions. The audio monitoring port is also helpful, though I haven’t figured out how to get sound from a wireless mic to pass through yet. I appreciate the two quality cables included; they feel durable and have been essential to getting the best performance.A couple of quirks: the capture card is a bit picky with the cable connection order, and the labeling on my unit was swapped (PD labeled as audio out and vice versa), which caused some initial confusion. But once set up correctly, it delivers smooth, high-resolution video for streaming with OBS.If you’re looking for a versatile capture card that’s compact and functional, this one is worth a try. It has its quirks, but the performance is solid once you get it up and running. I’m glad I added it to my setup!

I got this for my brother who goes a lot of gaming and Nintendo consoles. Figured this would be cool for him to use. He said it was a little confusing getting set up as the plugs in are very specific and has only a certain flow. Finally got it all set up and tried it out. Said the streaming tended to lag to glitch every so often. Overall said it was usable but just okay.
