While I don't have the right equipment to test these and prove they're not actually silicone rubber, I'm willing to bet they aren't. I have silicone stoppers that I bought from a lab supply years ago. The new stoppers have rough sides (not smooth) and the rubber is spongy, not as firm as the older stoppers. I won't use them for what I bought them for (to seal an old thermometer that contains kerosene) because I'm afraid these stoppers would *melt* in the kerosene.For $8 it's not worth returning them, but I will never buy an uxcell stopper again.
