It works, but it doesn't shut very easily. You have to use the handle to open as well as closing.

The spring force is a little more than i expected, and the quality is much better than i expected for the price. I'm using this for the latch/handle on the door to my smoker. it looks nice, is easy to clean, and works very well. the tolerances between the roller and the pocket are such that mounting doesn't have to be exact either - plus or minus about an 1/16". I would absolutely buy this again. Note: Screws weren't included.
