The light is bright and does a good job on the rare occasion I need to read something as I am editing the newspaper. I prefer working in the dark, as I am subject to migraines and light sensitivity. This does a pretty good job and is fairly versatile in how I can bend and place the light. Not quite as long as I would like. Could add a couple of more inches, but I am still very satisfied.

The biggest disappointment about this item is how yellow the light it produces is. Other letdowns are jiggly and cheap construction in comparison to the price as well as how hot the light gets compared to others I have. The temperature really makes me think twice about where to put it. If you can deal with these things it is actually a pretty bright light, just way too yellow for me.

I wanted a small lamp for the bookcase shelf I use as a USB power station, and this works great. The metal neck is strong enough to stand straight up. When bent in any direction it stayed there, rooted to the USB charger. An interesting and useful lamp. There's no switch, so I added a cheap plug switch. The casing does get warm, but not dangerously so. Would buy again.
