I tried with two different laptops - Windows 10 & Windows 11 - both OS don't recognize the device. It suppose to be Plug&Play, but in fact it is not and no drivers are provided. In Device manager it is shown as USB3 Video in Cameras section, however device status is always The device cannot start (Code 10). I tried disconnect, connect, different laptops, operating systems, and even looked for drivers - nothing helps. It's just a defective device which is completely not working. Not big money, but still I am not happy that I missed the return window at Amazon.

Für den Preis echt unschlagbar. Wichtig ist dass man wirklich einen USB3 Port hat sonst läuft das Ding im USB2 Modus und dann wirds hakelig. Achtung: Viele Adapter sind auch nur USB2 fähig! Also lieber ohne Adapter verwenden!

I have to confess I'm torn when it comes to rating this item. I see lots of other positive reviews, and was looking forward to seeing how it works. But I've got nothing. My computer fails to recognize the card both pugged into a USB hub I use to expand my connections or directly connected. I noticed other reviews mentioning the OBS software and found that in the instruction. But again doesn't appear to be recognizing the card, and I'm not reviewing the OBS software that I downloaded. Instructions are printed on a very small fold out card. But once again it offers no help in getting started. Troubleshooting - video source and cables checked but I wasn't getting connection.I'll give the device the benefit of the doubt and presume it's just me. But because of my experiences trying and failing to get it to work, I have to recommend that you avoid it.

Ok I almost left a bad review on this.. On a Macintosh You cannot get a good resolution from this or any digital ingest device without checking your settings. My first tests showed I was getting only 1280x720 input.. I know this card can handle better so I kept trying. I plugged in a different card that I know does 1080 and sure enough same issue(first time on this computer But it was fine on my old 2018 iMac). Went on the forums and sure enough I was doing something wrong and they were not giving me a solution . So I went back to Quicktime and clicked on the arrow next to the record button and Sure enough there was a setting for High and Maximum.. I went maximum and it started to record in 1080 WHEW.. Happy now.. So just for anyone out there.. This needs to be clicked to make sure you're using the right settings. So on to the review.. This is a nice addition (now) to my MacBook as it USB-C connections not the old USB-A. And using the standard Quicktime Click on File then New Movie Recording brings up the ability to capture directly on the Mac Also remember to click the little arrow next to the record button and select MAXIMUM.. But also make sure your selecting your source.. Mine happens to be an iPhone 12 Pro Max using Lightning to HDMI due to continuity taking over my phone and not letting me use my phone like I use to for recording videos. I Record directly on my iPhone but use my Mac to view what Im recording so I can be aligned into the camera since its a down view.. And this helps as it hooks directly to my MacBook and now Im happy. This is a great addition to anyone who wants to capture video easily. It is convent that it comes with an adapter that changes it from USB-C to USB-A.. Nice to have in any kit for those who need to capture video from HDMI into your computer (Mac or PC)

Plugged it into my laptop and it worked right away. Loaded OBS Studio and bam, perfect picture. Super easy setup. To bring back an old term...it is truly "Plug and Play".

I bought this to use my DSLR in OBS. For that purpose it does work great however I'll take a point off for being a bit finicky in that sometimes I have to unplug it from my computer and replug it a couple times for my DSLR to actually be shown in OBS but for the cost I can't really complain. It's a way better value than the 100 dollar alternatives.

This is a review of “XIIXMASK Video Capture Card,USB C 3.0 Capture Card,HDMI to USB C Audio Video Recording in 1080P@60Hz, 2K@30Hz for Teaching,Broadcasting,Gaming,Streaming,Video Conference”. I’m including the item name to help guard against any review hijacking in the future. This is pretty much your standard MacroSilicon MS2130-based USB 3 capture dongle. It’s not meaningfully different from similar MS2130-based competitors. What you get is pretty good, though. That means full uncompressed YUY2 (also called YUYV or YUV422) 1920x1080@60fps video with around 100ms of latency and 48KHz 16-bit 2ch PCM audio. The bandwidth requirement for that is around 2Gbps, so it’s not possible on USB 2 cards like those based on the older MS2109. In my testing this dongle worked fine with Linux and Windows as expected.Several higher capture resolutions are also supported, but you’ll see dropped frames indicating that the chipset is bandwidth-limited, even though the 5Gbps USB 3.0 bus isn’t. Perhaps such resolutions are more usable with MJPEG video, although I didn’t test that due to the additional compression. The USB-C variant of this capture dongle I received does come with a device USB-C to host USB-A adapter as pictured. Alas, the adapter is directional, i.e. if you flip the USB-C end over, you’ll be limited to 480Mbps USB 2.0 speeds. This is a problem with the adapter, not the dongle itself, and I’m not penalizing this product. Even though they’re not supposed to, most such adapters I own suffer from this limitation (it’s transparently a cost issue). At least this dongle identifies itself as “USB 2 Video” instead of “USB 3 Video” if it’s connected at those lower speeds, which is a nice touch.Anyway, I recommend MS2130-based USB 3 capture dongles like this one if you need to capture at up to 1080p60 and won’t be relying on watching the stream it captures to play a fast-paced game. (A good way to tell seems to be to look for “24/30/36bit” color listed as a feature.) If you need lower monitoring latency, you’ll need a separate monitor and either a separate HDMI splitter or a different dongle with two HDMI ports and “HDMI loopback”/“HDMI passthrough”. If you need higher resolutions or frame rates, you’re best served with something more expensive from a name brand for now.

The product does work and produces a generally good image, but it have a drawback in terms of hardware. It only has one output which is to USB 3 and no output for a second monitor so that the original display may be used independently from the capture card. Sadly, I’ll have to resort to buying an HDMI splitter to make this product of any use to me. Otherwise, good product.
