To plant water hyacinths, you can: - Trim the roots to about 2 inches - Remove yellow leaves - Scatter the plants on the surface of your pond - Place the container in a sunny spot - Make sure the water level is at least a few inches above the roots - Thin the plants when they cover more than 60 percent of the water surface - Water hyacinths are floating plants that don't anchor to the floor of the pond. They grow well in full sun to part - shade and are great for use in a bio-filter. They flower best in summer months. - To promote flowering, you can contain the water hyacinths with a circle of tubing, hula-hoop, or water hyacinth basket.

Beautiful while it lasted….which wasn’t long since turtles ate it!

I may have put this in too late in the year but it never got bigger or bloomed for me. I will try again earlier next year.

Unfortunately, it was 3/4 dead on arrival. The root system looks like it was slightly decomposing and the bulbs were brown. I have thrown it in my pond, but I am not too optimistic about the longevity of it's life.

This is an update.Originally I rated the product a 4.5 out of 5 solely on the condition of shipping. After a week un my ecosystem it has rebounded. I pinched off the damaged parts and plopped it in my mini pond. The plant sprang into action. It greeted up nicely. The local frogs love it.l can't wait until it blooms. I highly recommend the plant. Remember if you nolonger want the plant do not throw it in the canal or local pond. It is classified as an INVASIVE SPECIES in Florida. Be responsible and mulch it or throw it in the camp fire.

They came less than par and the second set came worse than the first. You will be disappointed

They were small, no color, some rot on the plants. Trying to revive them - and hoping they will get better with care.

I live in the desert, and it's late August, and it's 117° outside. I just received the package of water hyacinth and all four are in fantastic condition. There was just one small brown leaf. The rest I plopped into the new pond and they are beautiful and healthy. These pictures are from today, fresh out of the wrapper. I'll be ordering more from this seller.

The plant arrived in excellent condition and was beautiful except it was very small. Not a problem because plants grow, or they should grow. The one that I received isn't. A leaf will sprout and an original one dies. (This my be caused by the original being grown out of the water). I'm using it to start a small (5 gallon) aquarium. The other plants are doing great. But as stated this one hasn't died so maybe it'll be ok. I'd definitely orderit again.
